I am guessing the medicals would be extremely extensive. However, once again, provided he passes the medicals and the deal is sensible e.g. low basic, large performance bonuses what's the problem? If the club deem him fit (and he turns out to be) we could end up acquiring a really good player who is keen to make up for lost time for zero.

Having said that I can't see this happening, depends on his outlook.

How is he now is he still injured or recovered?

If he is ok I reckon he would be worth a punt on a pay as you play deal for us would hopefully provide a great level of experience being a top half Premier League player since he arrived. Know he said the other day he was thinking of hanging his boots up unless he got an offer at the right level for him.

Part of me knows that it is almost inevitable he will only be able to play so many games but also there is a part of me that says he would be an awesome player for us to have in midfield if we could get him playing at the top of his game. Maybe its just a regular run of games he needs in order to find out how to manage his knee and how much football it can take.

I would really like to see us give him a chance hes a great honest lad and its sad how his career has sharply went on the decline. Would be a shame to see him retire at a premature age he was an awesome player in his day and you've seen what he can do when he is fit (debut goal for City).
