Arshavin, Sidwell + a defender would be good business imo. Cheryshev on loan also?

TheSiege I have to be honest, this is all sh*t! You are all trying to set up a team for the start of the seaseon. To keep us up, we will need much more than you are suggesting!

But you nothing about football whatsoever.

Have interpreted your gibberish and totally agree. One of us knows sod-all about football. Suggest you look in a mirror to find out who as you obviously do not have the mental wherewithall to work it out!

Premier League Squad Size

by bennno » 05 Nov 2012 11:48

As we are restricted to 25 over 21 players then how many places can we actually make for new signings in January?

From the look of things perhaps Church and Gunnarson, but beyond that most of the players are being selected......

Guthrie and Pearce by the sounds of it, one of the keepers could be removed if needed too.

Church will go if he refuses to sign a new contract, so that's good news.

Guthrie will go if Brian doesn't.

Maybe they're all under 21.

this^^^^^

but if rodgers comes in for him, and he hasnt signed a contract in jan, could you realy begrudge him a move to one of the giant clubs of the game?

(not that i think he fits with brendans style in anyway whatsoever)

I don't care what anyone says, Pearce can pass the ball just fine.

He's no nonsense with his defending and heading, but with ball at feet his distribution has nothing wrong with it.

yeah, hes good enough at it for me, and for reading, for sure
hes especially good at putting his foot on the ball, looking up, and carrying teh ball forward when the space opens up a bit

i just question if he is good enough for rodgers' liverpool, or the liverpool fans
that said rodgers is mental, so he can, and will do things i havent predicted/dont agree with etc

I think we should approach the Premier League and argue that ALFIE and Tabby should only be counted as half each, therefore we still have a place for another player in our squad. Oh and get rid of Church, that's another space.

If we get rid of Church, that's another two spaces... cos Churches are massive.

TheSiege Current rumours are suggesting we will spend in January and the biggest rumour concerns Arshavin. I have a problem with this. Had we brought in a good attacking midfielder in the Summer, I would have been happy and would have seen a 'Plan B' being thought about. Lets face it, we would all have been happy to have 'The Sig' back. However, our 25 have been picked and have proved to not be strong enough! We must surely add quality to the areas where we are currently underperforming and, Arshavin's position is not one of our current problems.

We need a top-class striker to replace Church, a midfield general to replace Gunnarson, a right back, a top-quality centre-back and then, if we still have money and we still have space, we could consider a player who plays in Arshavin's position!

Think right back isn't a problem I think Gunter will come good again do agree with the need for a striker who is on the same level as Pog, a centre midfield who is good enough to play with Guthrie and finally a centre back (Dawson).

Think by getting these players you will see an improvement in terms of the standard of play or it we will look more at home as a PL team are maybe the right words.
