Confidence in Feds

by windermere_royal » 08 Nov 2012 18:37

So we have mister calamity back in for the forseeable future, I for one felt much more confident with McCarthy in goal, better shot stopper and better all round game, these next four games will have a big bearing on how our season will pan out, with this news I am not at all hopeful , I hope he proves me wrong, if he fecks up prepare for HNA meltdown on Saturday night.

I think Taylor deserves a chance. What was the point in bringing him in if not?

Feds has had a chance, played poorly for a prolonged period, was dropped and then threw a strop. Guthrie is out in the cold, so why should Federici be any different and walk straight back in?

McCarthy deserves the no.1 shirt and has been very impressive, and is most definitely getting better with each game.

Taylor came in with a view to being cover and wanting some first team football finally. McCarthy got the chance when Federici blundered, so surely now he deserves his chance until McCarthy is fit again.

I think he'll do just great, providing people stop calling him Mr Calamity, saying they felt more confident with McCarthy in goal, saying how much better McCarthy is, banging on about how important the next four games are, and suggesting he may feck up.

Without him we would not be a top flight club. Simple as. He made a few howlers earlier on in the season and his girlfriends twitter rant was ill-advised to say the least, but you've got to give him a second chance.

Besides, he was obviously injured earlier in the season. I'd have no problems picking a fully fit Fedders, which you have to believe he now is.

Bollocks was he injured earlier in the season and use that as an excuse.

Who's been an utter disaster so far this season?
Who's been an utter liability in every game this season?

Great season last year, dross this year and rightly dropped.

So you'd rather base your opinion on a handful of games from this season, than on the talent and form he's shown time and time again in previous seasons?

Agree he was fairly dropped, just not sure where people with negative attitudes like yours get off? Life must be a right barrel of laughs!

Now that we know McCarthy is the far better keeper, yes. Federici also has a massive chip on his shoulder. Twice now he's caused problems behind the scenes when not in the side. He has also tried to sell his soul live on telly when he was touting for a move to the PL, but no-one came in for him. I can't stand the guy!

Strange thing is I agree McCarthy is the better keeper and I'd rather he was playing. I also agree that Feds come get me plea was disrespectful and completely changed my opinion of him as a person, however...

He's still a top quality keeper, and has given us so much over the years. As such now he's back in the side I'd rather get behind him (and the team) and show some support. I would have thought this is how the majority of our 'supporters' would approach the situation, instead I read negative comments like yours on the prediction thread where you hope we concede four just so he gets dropped again!

Actually, he hasn't really given us so much over the years. Take last season away and he was very average and always looked like he was going to make a mistake, and often did.

What I don't want is BM to do what he did last time and bow to Feds pressure and this letting him back in keeps him in. McCarthy didn't deserve to be dropped last time and doesn't again. Once fit he should slot straight back in until such time that his form drops and the manager felt the need for change. But BM was weak before and I have little confidence he'll be strong again; so yes, I'd accept another shocker on Saturday and Feds to piss off back to the bench, and then the side start winning from the next game...

We're going down anyway, so daft opinions matter not.

Damn. Unlucky for McCarthy.

If Fed has sorted out his niggle and his head then this should be a problem in the slightest. He's proved last season he's good enough, he just has to live up to it now. I prefer McCarthy, who isn't far off Fed's quality with much more room to get better. He also hasn't dropped as many clangers and is home grown. But that doesn't mean that on his game Fed isn't good enough for us.

People asking what's the point in bringing in Taylor... Exactly this situation. It's so we can have a quality back up keeper on the bench even when we have an injury to one of McCarthy or Federici, without having to recall Andersen or rely on one of the even younger and far less tested keepers to be ready to be called on in emergencies.

If he wins his place back again on a permanent basis...where will this leave McCarthy and Sparta?

TheSiege I am not American, but I have always had the greatest respect for the Feds!

Like yooooou, I am not Welsh but I don't see how that ties into reessspecttt.

The key here, is when Mr McCarthy is well again, he needs to be given his mittens back and be prime choice.

Do you see?

I have no confidence in Feds at this level and why should I. I'd rather have Taylor in net
