I think the break could have done Federici the world of good. As we know, before he was dropped, he wasn't having a great time. Now, he will be back keen to prove himself and he will have had time to get used to the new ball. We always have Taylor and Andersen (if we recall him from loan) so it's happy days.

Any player is only as good as his next game. So far, Feds has not performed to the standard expected whereas Macca has. I have never had a great deal of optimism in Feds as a keeper especially as he has a penchant for the camera save. I still dont believe he commands his area as much as he could and he certainly isnt as vocal as he needs to be. It is an interesting position that BMcD finds himself in. Does he turn to Feds or give Taylor his chance?

Confidence in Feds?

Not much, no.

He'll be short of confidence and trying much to hard to prove himself, both of which are a very dangerous combination.

Anyone who thinks that Fed does not deserve the chance to redeem himself is being very unfair. He was brilliant last season and I am sure he can come good again - although now for me McCarthy is number one if both are fit.

Alexander Litvinenko He'll be short of confidence....

Don't forget he's Australian Dirk!

As for Taylor, why would we turn to him. He's played about 75 games in 15 years on the bench and the last time he played a competive fixture an FA Cup tie in January 2010!

He's here as experienced cover, that's all. Whilst we have either Federici or McCarthy available I'd be amazed if Taylor gets a game.

SPARTA
Royal Prince Who kept the most clean sheets in the Championship last season? :|

Who's been an utter disaster so far this season?
Who's been an utter liability in every game this season?

Great season last year, dross this year and rightly dropped.

You're either partially sighted or just plain dishonest. In what way was he an utter liability against Arsenal? Watch the effing video and have a look at some of the saves he made in that game. Not his fault that our midfield and defence decided to part as though under the command of Moses (the biblical not the football one!).

To all the morons who spend all of their time slating all of our players......
Feck off and 'support' someone else, we, nor the club need you.

Feds has been great for the club, and i'm sure his early season performances would have been better if he was fully fit. We're blessed here in the fact we have two top 'keepers.
His distribution is excellent, and initiates many an attack. That's the one area he has over McCarthy otherwise they're very closely matched.

Just taking that last point in isolation, I'd argue that. Alex Mc doesn't kick it as much as Federici, but some of the attacks he set-up against Fulham with quick, long throws down the wings were superb.

Ok, I haven't seen him this season (playing most sats and difficult to get last minute tickets), but he's always improving. Possibly learning from the aforementioned Feds! Always good for him to add another string to his bow. Like i said, two top 'keepers

I'm hopeful he will come in and keep his place, even when McCarthy is fit again.

Memories of Shaka and his long throws to the wings.
