melonhead surely its the people selling them that put them up for 2x the face value.
surely you should be having a go at them.
the club looked, and decided it was too complicated and costly to do themselves and have involved an outside agency.
if you dont like the idea, dont use it
But it's not just fans putting tickets on there is it? Unless people are telling porkies, the club also plan to provide some tickets for sale on there. How much are they going to ask for them and how much are they earning for this 'service'? Even if the club charge face value (they are surely going to want to recover the seller's fees?), the parasitical scum Viagogo will add all of their rip off charges, so supporters will end up paying over the odds for tickets, which could and should have been sold at face value through the club.
Still, this is likely to be a short-lived scheme. If we drop through the trap door in 2013, interest in tickets will drop and the club won't see viaripoff for dust!
Royal Lady Isn't there a Facebook football ticket exchange page for Reading FC? I really don't see how difficult it is for people to tell the club which games they can't attend, have their ST or member card blocked for that game/s and those seats put back onto the system for people to buy. If someone buys it, the club retain a small percentage of the face value and pay the ST holder back.
But providing that 'service' to their supporters is unlikely to make themselves as much money as getting into bed with viaripoff.
Incidentally Man City asked Twitter to close down a non-profit ticket exchange service that was being run amongst their fans.
