Decent backup keeper too judging by his save in the first half.

Ian Royal
RoyalBlue Said after the Arsenal game that I reckoned he would end up playing for a much bigger club than Reading and I reckon that was reinforced with today's giant performance.

I also reckon he helped turn today's performance around. Towards the end of the first half, he surged out of defence with the ball, brushing past several challenges before calmly passing the ball to the feet of a team mate and continuing on an overlapping run. In doing so, he lifted the fans and showed all of his team mates the type of character and performance they needed to produce.

And he nearly killed* himself going for a set piece at one point.

*slight exaggeration.

Indeed, it was a Sonko Superman moment!

Did he handle it? My son seemed convinced that he did!

I was watching online and I couldn't really tell, commentator was convinced he did though.

Excellent block all the same.

Oh yes, and his hands were not by his side so we were a tad fortunate there.

Great to see him coming through and looking impressive after all the dismissive comments during the last year or so.

Most blatant handball I've seen in a long time. Feds couldn't have done a better job of saving it.

Absolute hero though, led the defence throughout whilst Kaspars struggled.

May I just say that Morrison's tackle to dispossess Baines on the edge of the box was absolutely superb - perfect timing or he'd have been off and we'd have been facing a penalty.

I remember mentioning him to a Sw*ndon fan I know (sorry) just after we signed him; he said we were welcome to him as he was their 4th best CB and wouldn't be missed!

Didn't he write a song called "Return of the Mack" a few years ago?

And wasn't he black then too?

Swindon fan I know was gutted we took him away from them. Thought he was the best young player they'd had in ages and predicted a big future for him.

His block at the end was phenomenal. Massive future ahead of him by the looks of it.

Great game yesterday, but I remember the first time we played Khalifa Cisse at CB he was a "revelation" and that was clearly not the case in the long run.

He's showing promise, has had some solid form on loan, but I'll wait a little longer before hyping him up.

Was that the one second half when he hooked the ball back and then played it up field to Le Fondre, who dummied the everton CB to go clean through? If so, I thought it was to tackle Jelavic...but either way, it was one of the best tackles I've seen in a long time.
