4 Six-Pointers ...

by glenroyal » 20 Nov 2012 08:50

So, ignoring Man U at home, our next 4 games are away to the 2 teams above us (Wigan and Sunderland) and away to the 2 teams below us (Villa and Southampton) .... could seriously affect Christmas cheer one way or the other.

Well, Norwich have just beaten Man U, and it's not like they didn't deserve to either. We could get points from the Man U and Arsenal games if we're cute about it.

Like I said, I was ignoring Man U for this thread ... (trying not to think of Ronaldo vs Murty ..)

Would love to end 2012 with a nice cushion of even worst teams below us

Everyone's got awfully optimistic suddenly, haven't they. Even my dad, who's only ever been to one football match (Notts County at home, 1-0, lovely Ian Richardson OG) and doesn't really care, decided last night that we're going to win the next two, and move towards being a comfortable mid-table team.

Check the results of the teams that finish 17-15th in the last couple of years and you'll see they pick up points
from teams they shouldn't. It's fairly random.

Four points would be outstanding but I'd honestly be happy with two, just to stop the teams we're playing picking up maximums at our expense.

A point away from home anywhere in the league should be considered a good result in my opinion.

Smack on. Obviously, all draws with no wins was becoming a worry
but mostly draws with a few wins isn't shabby, especially if we take
home points off our relegation rivals.

Was this circa 1998? Think this may have been my first ever game :P

Not sure, in my head it was in our first season at the Madejski but as the OG is the only thing I remember from that match I may be wrong!

It was certainly in the first couple of years at the Madejski.

I think it may have been the furthest out I've ever seen a header scored from.

Would be over the moon with 2 wins 2 defeats from those 4. Preferably 2 home wins to keep fortress Mad Stad ticking over nicely.

I've seen one or two further out but it was pretty far.
