Fail to get anything from the Villa game and we will be firmly in the bottom three by next Sunday. Many said McDermott should be given until the end of November and currently that seems about right.

Since our promotion: Poor transfer dealings, poor team selection, poor tactics and poor substitutions. His halo is slipping.

Despite people calling for his head, no one is actually offering up decent replacements.............

I don't agree he should be sacked at all but playing devil's advocate here for a second...who would you get?

Sorry but no one decent is out there!

There are plenty of good managers out there - they don't have to be out of work.

Great guy, used to be a fantastic player but, if McDermott isn't prepared to use him, now clearly occupying a squad place that clearly should have been given to a new class signing for centre midfield.

Dreadful mistake McDermott.

Todays game and the game against Villa were always going to be huge given that they are performing badly at the moment. The manner of our defeat today cannot be timed any worse, a point would have kept us in touch with those above. The game against Villa is, like the QPR one a 'must not lose' as given our horrendous fixtures afterwards we could find ourselves well out of touch towards safety come the end of Dec. Thus far the Everton win for Brian really was huge as it gave him that win in November in what is ultimately a month where points should unquestionably be picked up.I have to say Gorkks needs to be taken out for now and Pearce re instated. I would definately look at a CB in Jan and let Kaspars go, a great Championship CB but completely a bridge too far in the Premiership. The factor really is how we fare in December, and if the manner of our defeats continue in the same fashion. If this combination continues then it would be fair to say AZ may well re visit his faith towards Mcdermott....

Brilliant interview with Tabb. Really passionate and very angry about the performance. Maybe he should take over the team talks.

In contrast: Same old, same old from McDermott

The one certain thing is that this present situation can't continue we are looking so out of our depth its unbelievable, Shorey apart, some very poor signings during the summer, especially Guthrie and Pog who play a completely different style of football than we play under Mcdermott additionally the total blanking of Pearce, with Kaspers clealy struggling, as was said many times by Charlie Nicholas on GSS this afternoon.

This is now the "sackings" window for teams that are struggling in all the leagues and we so fall into that category, we all have tremendous admiration and gratitude for what McDermott has achieved at the Mad Stad over the past couple or so years, but it has to be faced that unless changes are made it won't matter who we go after in January we will be cut adrift at the bottom of the table, sadly lessons from our second Prem season last time haven't been learnt, sorry boss but its time to hang up your trak suit and step aside for the good of the club.
