Silver Fox
windermere_royal Judging by the results a big majority want him to stay, and I accept that result.

That's good, I'd hate to think you wouldn't take the poll results into account when deciding whether to sack Brian or not

Actual LOL.

BM won't be sacked....he's too much of a YES man and that suits Zingarevich & Madejski down to the ground...

Any new manager would see that the current squad needs serious investment to stay competitive in this league..and by the soundbites coming out of the ivory tower....that doesn't appear to be on the table ...

BM doesn't and won't rock the boat ...so the status quo will remain.....

...if ever there was a time to invest for the future, with the new TV deals kicking in next season, it's now .....but short termism seems to be part of the "Reading Way".....you reap what you sow I guess....

What amazes me is the very premise of this question and the utter lack of perspective certain fans have of reality; we are about to play a top flight game, away at Villa Park against Aston Villa, one of the historic big teams of English football and a team we have only ever beaten once in the last 100 years (and that was at home) and some people are talking about sacking our Manager if we lose this game???

Genuinely unbelievable.

At the end of the day, he hasn't started well but then we never do to the start of a season. If there is ANYONE who can get out this mess it's the legend himself... Brian.

In Brian we trust.

Are you a politician? Because you really do display a politician's level of deceit in the way you chose to twist those stats!

theyre your stats!

question- should manager be sacked if we lose to villa/end of Nov?
previous poll results - manager should get till end of december + manager should be given whole year = 66% (2/3rd majority)

thats not twisting anything, its a simple statement of the cold hard facts with no emotion or opinion involved

By the way, if you think my maths is bad (only because of the way you chose to twist the argument) have a look at your English.

Melonhead what I'm saying is that new blood is needed in January...and to get players that will improve what we already have will mean, for Reading, serious investment.

We also know that in January prices seem to be more inflated as no clubs are looking to offload their good players, unless
a bid that makes good economical sense is made ...I don't believe that Reading will have the finances available OR will pay the prices that will be required for squad improvement ...all IMHO...no good buying more of the same

I'm sure AZ has the money ....what I don't understand is that next season AZ could wipe his ar@e every day with £50 notes given the huge TV deal cash injection, but he can wave goodbye to all of that if he has failed to see the need to invest in January.

...I am sure many of the lower teams in the Prem will be investing in January so we need to invest if it's only to stand
still ....

If Brian stays we go down.

If Brian stays and we go down, he will stick with his hustle and bustle long ball football and we will struggle for a top six place next season.

he could invest what you want him to(if he has it spare) and still be waving goodbye to it

Anton might well be the new owner but don't forget John still has a 49% stake in this football club so I wouldn't be surprised if John, Anton and all the others involved with TSI decide between them how much they are all going to put in the transfer budget in January. There will be money available and probably more that Brian and the club will make public because we don't want to pay over the odds for our targets by letting the selling parties know we have X amount available to spend.

To answer the OP as much as I'm getting pissed off with the shit long ball football we insist on playing I don't think sacking Brian is the answer at the moment simply because whoever came in would have the same players who only seem capable of playing shit long ball football and I think Brian deserves a bit of loyalty for achieving what he has.
