Our problems start and stop with the way we use our midfield.

Our entire style of play is so old fashioned it's embarassing.

Even if we go down we need to sign players who know how to control the football, Or we'll have exactly the same problems if we get promoted again.

Last year was pure luck and the wins were papering over the cracks that could be seen even then if you looked past the results.

Premier league football matches are won and lost in the midfield.

Feel for Brian, but I hope you're right. He needs to go before he is pushed, and go with his head held high. We need new impetus, new ideas, a fresh approach and agree with others, a new captain. This season feels totally lost, but there's plenty of time for one more miracle, and if supported in Jan then you never know.

I 100% agree. He's a great guy, but this could ruin him, us, and his future. We need something NEW!

The style of football is embarrassing. It would be acceptable if it was getting results, but it seems to be our downfall. Players who can't control and pass the ball comfortably. It's like watching a pub team.

Something needs to change.

I did think that there were 3 worse teams in the Prem after us and it would get better after Everton, but the last 2 have proven that we've now found the best in whatever depth we have in the squad, they're playing to their limit, and possibly mentally tired from it, and it can't get any better, so we are in my opinion one of the bottom three now. Should Brian go, will there be an immediate mass collective improvement in the team with enough of a response against Man U and Arsenal before Christmas, I doubt it, so he shouldn't go. Who knows, solidarity against Southampton could turn a potential 6 pointer, but on their current form I doubt it.

There are no positives. We lost and looked terrible again. The lack of quality in the tean is painfully obvious and unless we spend 30million plus in January (which we won't) we will finish bottom of this league by quite a margin. I have yet to see 1 team worse than us in this division let alone 3. We have pretty much zero hope of staying up.

Boot ball up wing -> hold it up -> lose the ball -> Villa attack on the counter.

Rinse and repeat.

We looked shocking today.

Positives:
Best performance of the season from a Reading right back
Tabb had possibly his best ever game for us
Shorey played well
No Gorkss, and both centre backs did well.

Negatives:
No creativity
We made Villa look like Swansea.

Agree about Cummings. Hopefully that puts to bed the Gunter v Cummings argument for now.

Positives:

1. Feds wasn't completely at fault for the goal!
2. Jason Roberts demonstrated his ability to count to 4.
3. The shirts still look quite nice!
4. We're still in the FA cup.
5. Gunnarson was on the bench! Legend! Fact!

Tabb what?

He was poor tonight, but no where near as poor as Leigertwood again. He was embarrassing.

Where was the ball control?

If we're scratching for a positive, Feds looked the best he has all season.
