Gus the teenage cow This board has been around for a long time, we've had promotions and fabulous cup victories, play-off drama and last day heroics and today we get the record amount of people online on this forum........like a frenzied rubber-necking bloodthirsty mob baying for Brian Mc's blood

shame on you all, you pitchfork-wielding neophytes turning up in your droves during our darkest hour

et tu hob nobus

How many games have you been to so far this season Gus

there is only one statistic I use to measure myself and that's the length of my love truncheon in inches and let's just say I've been to more Reading games than the length of my power pole in inches so we're talking at least 4 games here - put that in your pipe and smoke it buddy (ummm......the impressive retort rather than my appendage)

The reason for a record number of people online is because this is a moment in Reading's history where we all but seal relegation and only 300 people witnessed it. The rest were venting our anger on here.

To draw a comparison - if the current England team were a club team they would be Reading, that's how bad Reading are at the moment.

Professional football at the highest level is an extremely rewarding profession that tends to operate in pretty short time frames e.g. 9 months to determine success or failure, profit or loss. Everyone entering the profession knows that and to a very large extent the financial rewards compensate for the removal of loyalty of club and employees. Yes McDermott achieved a lot in the last couple of seasons but is failing dismally this season at potentially great expense/loss for the club. He has been given time to show that he can learn and start to turn things around. However, far from showing signs of learning and turning things around, he is demonstrating the complete opposite. Not only are the players that he signed and selected not performing well enough but they are now lacking fight and motivation and there are signs of them turning against McDermott.

Shame on you for presumably wanting to support a club at this level but refusing to acknowledge and accept the way the 'game' is played at this level.

I would rather be an established premier league team that doesn't need to get relegated to get promoted in the first place or have the disappointments of play-off dramas, and the only cup victory I really want is a cup final, have we been to one recently?

What's wrong with baying for Brian's head anyway, Chelsea sacked their manager and they're 3rd in the league. Its all about where you expect your team to be, and to be honest I thought we were better than where we are, not by much, but definitely better

If we were winning premier league champions league trophies and playing in world club cup tournaments around the world, Chelsea would want to be like us

You are clearly supporting the right club for the wrong reasons, or the wrong club altogether.

Rubbernecking ? Funny I see it the other way around - turning up in time of crisis to lend much needed support to beleaguered squad and manager.

I think there are 2 camps to the Brian out Brigade.

Those who want to take out their anger and frustration on someone and Brian is the obvious target, and those who sadly feel the job is a little beyond him with the apparent fractures in the dressing room.

Those looking to slag him off are probably little kids or people with brains the size of a hamsters testicle. There are others though who feel sympathetic to his cause but believe that the club would be served better with a change of management and hold no ill feeling towards Brian. These people are entitled to their opinion, afterall this would be a very boring forum if we agreed everything.

This x1000000

Brian is, and always will be, a Reading legend. Unfortunately this does not change the fact that a new manager is needed.
