Royal91 On the assumption we have £8.3m to spend I'd rather it went towards the Gylfi fund

Spending £8mill in the Premier League is like buying a packet of chrisps. RFC did to wake up and get real with real money on decent players.

Squares for me. Wait, are we buying the chrisps or giving them away?

same!

This guy is quality and can definitely play off the striker. If we really do have £8.3m to spend and we sign this guy, it is a massive sign of intent. He is very highly thought of in Spain.

Would obviously be an awesome signing but can't help but feel this is a bit of a PR bid!? One for the fans to see to "show some intent" but also one that isn't actually expected to happen, considering the calibre of some of the other clubs being linked with him.

Though hopefully I'm wrong!

Surely if thats the intention then you speak to Beckham or enquire about Malouda rather than offer someone €10 million in the hope they dont want it?

I hate this 'we need an attacking midfielder so badly' argument.

If you watch the way Reading play, they like to get it out wide very quickly, they like to work the wings. An attacking midfielder doesn't suit our style of play.

In recent weeks, Reading have improved because they have gone more defensive in midfield, and have let the wingers and strikers take the brunt of the attacking responsibilities. Guthrie is effectively our attacking midfielder if we ever needed one.

What I've seen of this player is he's a poacher, very much like Alfie, with the service our strikers are getting personally think it will be £8.3m down the drain, I think we need a striker that can hold the ball up, if Pog gets injured and Roberts looking like he's out for a good while were lacking a big man.

Well all redundant now

Not that I think it is any more likely to happen but he doesn't actually say no in the article does he? Just that he is very, very expensive and not likely to want to leave...

Come on it was a silly thread! We hate spending. We allow our competitors to bully us in the
market. Not looking good. We were lucky to win on Saturday. Three pointa
Away from safety but in reality that is much more. We need more quality! Come on AZ make a signing!
A real one please.

Yeah! Too many of the signings in the last 12 months have been imaginary and Jellytot and I won't stand for it anymore!

Whatever your position is on whether we should spend, I think all would agree that being a Reading fan in the transfer window is a pretty deflating experience.
