I like the bit about AZ not being adverse to spending big money?

The one thing that did pop into my head on this was the possibility that McD might see Jobi as being an (at least a short term) answer to our problems as an attacking midfielder through the middle which could leave us light on the left - only this week he said this http://www.readingfc.co.uk/news/article ... 18287.aspx - possibly paving the way for a more regular starting position in the middle for Jobi?

Given that Ince plays mainly on the left, I did wonder if there might be something in this.....can't see HRK being our first choice LW for the rest of the season.....

Can't see us paying £8M though....

I think it might just be Blackpool trtying to get Liverpool to pay up, will happily be proved wrong though

Makes sense. Ince on the wing, Mcanuff turned overnight into attacking midfielder, two positions for the price of one - job done!

I love these BS rumours. I reckon they have a hat with players in and a hat with teams in and just randomly draw them out each day.

It's Liverpool that are apparently wavering on the deal… they're not prepared to pay 8m on a player they let go for 500,000.
It does sound unlikely, but we did admit to being interested in Arseshavings and Arsepass for 8m too, so maybe AZ does have some of his dads money stuffed under the mattress to spend on the right player?

Can't Ince play through the middle as well?

IMO would be a really good signing - Ince, McAnuff and Kebe behind Pog with Guthrie and Leigertwood (who seems to have found his form again - was very good again yesterday) would be a pretty good midfield....

Option to have Ince in the middle if Jobi's out with McLeary or HRK to fill the spot on the left....

Would certainly fit with McDs desire to have 2 players for each position as well, if he's starting to look at Jobi as a CAM.

Still can't see us spending £8M on one player, but I'd love to be surprised.....

This rumour is probably rubbish but listening to Paul Ince yesterday or the day before he was talking about Tom still being very young and saying that it had been good for him going to Blackpool.

Also, he said that he would rather that he continue his career for the next couple of years at a club where he is likely to get first team football. Basically, he doesn't want him warming the bench somewhere else.

There was certainly interest but that was way before the figure of £8mil was being touted about. Can't see Reading paying that but McDermott did sound yesterday as if something (fairly) big could happen. He said "its all very exciting isn't it?" well not if you're not spending money Mr McDermott, he's had loads of windows with limited funds, no reason to be excited unless there is some decent irons in the fire.

Maybe i'm looking too far into it but if anyone can do a deal its Nick Hammond so IF a deal could be done, i'd very surprised if it was an £8m cash bid - as pointed out, instalments or whatever then maybe.
