Milan Baros - Free Agent

by bracksroyal10 » 14 Feb 2013 11:57

I've always rated him I remember when he was on fire during Euro 2004.

Just been released and is still at a good age of 31. Not too sure how his wage demands would go down.

A good option to have for us even on a 6 month deal? He knows what the league is all about and it would be our type of signing. Remember Fulham did this with Diarra and it worked very well for them.

I still believe Baros has a couple more years in him at the top level. He was never going to find it easy with Drogba Elmander etc all at the same club now.

Good compared to what? Can't believe you went public with this suggestion of him being worth a look.

I'd def snap him up, can't believe hes only 31.

Obviously he'd have to be an "emergency goalkeeper" to get round that 25 man squad thing!

Don't know why its being slated he is played in a champions league final, played for three clubs at the top level Liverpool, Lyon and Galatasary. Quite clearly he would be useful.

As much as I love the big bad wolf I highly doubt he will play again for us at the rate things are going. He seems to be more interested in his role as a pundit and voicing his opinion on racism rather than concentrating on working hard to get fit again. Don't get me wrong I love him as a player and really appreciate what he has done for us but at his age I think he has every right to start thinking about that.

But I do not see how this will benefit the club, we would be better off releasing him as a pose to him sitting on the sidelines doing nothing and earning £££££s.

A.his hip is oxf*rd. hes getting too old
B.how do you know how hard he is working?
C. his opinions on racism were from before he got injured
D.fitness and having opinions on racism are not mutually exclusive

A. Precisely why we should release him and bring in someone else who can contribute in keeping us up
B. I don't know but thats beside the point he seems to be on TV at every opportunity available and has too much of an opinion.
C. Again too much of an opinion his number 1 priority should be doing well for us.
D. If he wants to have that much of an opinion then let him retire and take on his role as a pundit and set up his career after life as a footballer (defo can see Sky offering him a job in the future).

We can't rely on Pog and Alfie all season they will dip in form. As hard as Noel Hunt works and as pacy as Nick Blackman is, I can't see it being enough to keep us up were an injury to happen to Pog or Alfie.

As long as we have space in the squad then i thought we could sign any free player up to march.

Thou Baros is a waste of space, you only have to look at how his career as gone since Liverpool.
