Unbelievable Jeff Ok mate, did say I am NOT SURE if they would keep him as I cannot see him doing well in the premier league, but if they keep him and he does well, fair play to the lad

OK mate, and I was just offering a different opinion. No need for the big bad capital letters now was there.

Seems to be a bit of beef between you two. What's the history here?

USA_Loyal_Royal charlie austin(ST, 2.6m) proven striker in championship, natural striker who would do well for us in the prem.

USA_Loyal_Royal honestly, there is no way in hell we can get rhodes. after his performance this season he will be snatched up by a midtable premier league squad. his days at championship are unfortunately done. also there is no way in hell he is going to go anywhere for 3.5m after blackburn bought him for 8m. his value is still valued at 8m but since he has a few years in his contract and blackburn dont have to sell i can see him going for quite a bit more.

Goals
25 C. Austin (Burnley)
24 J. Rhodes (Blackburn)

Why do you value Rhodes at almost triple Austin's value?

He cost Blackburn so much, I doubt they would be happy to let him go for a massive loss

this. i can see austin easilly going for 4-5m, but blackburn have so much invested they wont want to take that loss especially in the financial position theyre in. as i said in another post in this thread i just went by their value on a transfer market website. not many clubs let their players go for the value on those websites, most want to be compensated more.

fair fucks.

But I think that Burnley will see what Rodriguez went for, and then how much Rhodes went for, see that Austin is of the same calibre, and want more than 5 million.

I really do think that we missed a trick in the Jan '11 window with Austin. Went for 1.8 mill? Hell, we really fucked up by thinking that Church was better than him.

agreed. church is practically useless now. if he ever gets more than 20 goals in a season in the championship i will come over to england, find him, and perform unspeakable acts. luckily he is such shit i will never have to do this! :D 8)

Personally I believe Adkins needs to look at the top epl clubs fringe players for transfers. The ones with huge potential but just can't break into there respected clubs starting 11's, the ones who have been loaned around to get experience but will never play for their boyhood clubs. These players will be hungry and after a season or two in the championship could be top players in the premier league as well as 5 to 10 year players for the club. Look at the likes of Sinclair, cork, taarabt, Jacob mellis- 5 goals 10 assists, borini, Ritchie de laet, Baxter,James Chester, andy king and Tom ince. These players were bought by championship clubs for not a huge fee but with a lot of add ons and are now quality players. They are the type of players Adkins should be looking at, as he did with cork. The club has relied on 2 to 3 year players who end up not being good enough for two long, we need players who will suit a long term vision for the club and who can keep us in the epl.

Here's a list of players that could potentially be quality and long serving members for reading in the premiership for years to come:
H.kane
J.bostock
T.eisfeld
P. van aanholt- left back solution and very similar player to Bertrand
J.mceachran
N.chalobah
D.boyata
J.spearing
A.pritchard

Imagine a reading side going back to the premier league and ultimately staying there with huge potential looking like this-
McCarthy
Gunter, Mariappa, Morrison, van aanholt
Mccleary, McEachran, karacan/Guthrie/eisfeld(just the one there),robson-kanu
Austin(coz his class), lefondre
Bench/reserves:henly/andersen, Cummings, boyata,chalobah, karacan/guthrie/eisfeld,obita, Samuel, Harry Kane

The potential in that side could be imense.
Sorry if I got carried away with this post it's just a pipe dream of what I want reading to look like

i saw harry kane play last summer when tottenham and liverpool came to baltimore to play a friendly.i have to say after watching him that day i wouldnt want him at that club, he was wholly anonymous the entire time he was on the pitch and literally only gave the ball away when he had it. he cant hold the ball up, he is extremely sloppy, cant get into space, barely has pace(from what i saw), and just overall looked out of his element even for a friendly. i know he is only 19 right now but im sitll not impressed from what i have seen. josh mceachran, i always bought from chelsea in fifa 11 after a year loan i know that doesnt mean much but id still love to have him here his career looks pretty decent! :D

Played 34 games at Boro this season and got 0 goals and 3 assists, but still from what I've seen of him he looks a very good player.

Hows Benik Afobe getting om this season?

Dunno how he's doing at Millwall, but Bolton fans thought he was utter shit.

Not sure how he is doing on the whole, but I saw the game against Middlesborough on TV and he was their best player by a mile. Had a lot of pace and strength and could have scored a couple.

Tadanari Lee 1.5

-If we could get Altidore I would be shocked, he plays regulary for AZ alkmaar (or however you spell it) and has a goal every 2 games.
-Hasebe, the captain of japan, wont leave Wolfsburg for the Championship.
-Pinto would be worth a try.
-Massive yes to Buckley although 2m seems a bit cheap.
-On Doyle, move on.
-Lee is playing in Japan and I doubt the standard is anywhere near the Championship.

Was going on the fact this is a fantasy 10 mill I know half of them wouldn't come here, as for Lee he looked solid enough till injury hit for saints last season but was primarily saying him as he is a striker with solid pace, something we currently don't have. As for Doyle 3rd choice striker on a free finishing his career where it really started, can't really complain, considering that we will most likely lose Roberts, pog and hunt this summer 3 strikers needed really.
As for Buckley Brighton bought him for just under 1m just over a year ago I think 2/2+player we can afford to lose would be about right but then again I'm not Nick Hammond so I could be way off the mark..

I think I'd rather we went for two or three high quality players rather than provide competition for what we have. However, based on my in-depth Fifa knowledge I'd like us to have a look at the following:

Per Skjelbred (Midfield) - Hamburg - Free
Or
Zvjezdan Misimović (Midfield) - Guizhou Renhe - £3 million

Georgi Schennikov (Left-back) - CSKA Moscow - £4 million
Or
Laurens De Bock (Left/Centre-back) - Club Brugge - £4 million

If Jozy Altidore is out of our reach then have Hiroshi Kiyotake of Nuremburg for around £3 million.

Then our usual cheapies like Alan Judge from Notts County for a fiver.
