It doesn't mean anything like that at all. It could be an experienced player we've been chasing and can secure nice and early rather than let him slip into another Championship clubs hands. It could be a youngster we rate very highly and he's keen to come in. Bobby Convey for example was a deal that began in the winter before the summer he signed. No need to jump the gun when all we know at this point is there is a player we are supposed to be close to getting...
