No Fixed Abode Be fair though, Reading under Mcdonut in the Prem were dire entertainment, both on and off the pitch. With Fergie retiring we really do lack characters as managers, so with Jose coming back you can be sure of some entertainment.

Why, what's he going to do? Produce a rabbit out of his arse? That would be entertaining.

Managers aren't there to entertain us, they're there to get their team to win matches.

Big Foot Mourinho has won 71% of his PL matches, he's a special one. I'm happy to see him back in England - hopefully to get one step closer towards the England job.

How is that relevant to the cum fest the press have been involved with?

How is him being an "entertainer" relevant to his teams performance?

If he wants to be an entertainer let him go on Britain's Got Talent.

I love football but I absolutely and utterly loathe everything around the 24 hour publicity bollocks that pervades modern football coverage. It's bollocks for the sake of bollocks. It's Harry conducting yet another sad interview out of the windows of yet another new car. It's morons dispatched to every ground looking to dig up an entertaining story - rather than reporting on fcuking football, it's the ridiculous questions that they ask again and again and again and the crass inferences that are spun out to make some air time.

But sure, I come form an age when coverage was limited to MOTD/Big Match and you never saw Reading on the TV. An age without the internet and the plethora of multi-accounted morons who inhabit it, an age without HobNob.

In this world the Earth still rotated around the sun and people got on with their lives rather than waiting for the next press conference run by liars and hypocrites having microphones shoved under their noses every 5 minutes and asked fcuking stupid questions.

Yes, I'm a dinosaur and I make no excuses for it. There are no standards in football any more. there were precious few when I first started watching but at least I didn't get it rammed down my throat 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

I guess it's getting pretty close to me just not bothering with it any more and doing something more useful with my time.

No offence, you are entitled to your opinion and you are the first person to put a footballing reason for Chelsea re-employing him. He was undoubtedly good at his job and I'm sure he'll be successful at Chelsea. I just think we'd all be better off without this tirade of shit that accompanies football nowadays.

Agreed in principle but would you honestly prefer a league in which every team is managed by an Avram Grant?

I really couldn't give a shit who manages any of the teams.

It's just not relevant.

No Fixed Abode Reading under Mcdonut in the Prem were dire entertainment

lol @ at Chelsea fan saying that of another team

:|

Reading were the only side last season in the Prem who couldn't string more than 4 passes together, they were that bad. McDonut, although a nice chap doesn't have a personality.

New age Chelsea fans in suddenly talking up personality, as if you get points for it, as soon as Mourinho is confirmed shocker

Odd that they are not talking so much about exciting, expansive, flowing football, almost like it suddenly counts less than personality now.

Best for Mourinho that he went back to Chelsea where he can play his us against the world card with more effect.

He finally had a job at a really big club but despite some limited success it overwhelmed him and he ultimately failed to deliver. Ironically, given the way Kes is trying to wind people up by attacking Reading and McDermott, he was seen as boorish and dull in Spain and to a certain extent in Italy as well.

Pressures on. Can he better what Benitez achieved last season?

CheLOLsea and their fans would be ridiculed even more than they are now if he fails.

Abrams last throw of his Chelsea dice?

My, how "bored" I was by the four Reading goals when we played the rock steady Blues last season.

What Chelsea needs now is a bit of stability........

Stability works. Look at Arsenal over the last 8 years.

After that little rant it seems like you are getting quite rattloled at the suggestion that Mourinho might not be all he's cracked up to be.

Who gives a shit about "personality" - apart from journalists? How about modesty, decency and not being an arrogant, self-important brat - which are the sort of values most people value.

Oh, and rattLOLed!

Being an arrogant, self-important brat does - because if your owner is an arrogant, self-important brat as well then he'll want to choose the players and pick the team, but you won;t let him interfere - and he sacks you.

Just because you are a character doesn't mean you have character

At least we know Kes is a talksport listener of a football fan who thinks football's better if the likes of Holloway, Jose and Colin are all over the news

From an entertainment perspective, Snooker has gone downhill due to lack of characters, same with tennis etc. It's refreshing with managers like Holloway and Jose who speak their mind, unlike the majority of players who are media trained and give generic answers.

We should embrace characters in any sport.

He may have been humbled by his experience in Madrid. Chelsea is a step backwards not only in terms of him going back to them but also in terms of the size of club he is managing and maybe now he realises he isn't quite as good as he thought he was and that he needs to tone it down to rebuild himself.
