Speculation: James Ward Prowse

by maffff » 11 Jun 2013 14:43

Knows Adkins from his time at Saints, not happy to sit on the bench for another season [although seems to be playing up his ability to make an impact there, rather than looking to escape]. Dependent on who they bring in, possible cheeky loan?

wouldn't get first team here so cant see why he would want to drop down a div to sit on the bench

If he's Dave's son, I think we may become become a very strong force next season.

Lacoste

The footballing knowledge of the OP just astounds me.

Why would one of the most sought after young players in the country join Reading?

Harsh words. If he has a good head on his shoulders and wants to play regular football then dropping down a division could do him the world of good. He is only 18 after all, has ages yet to get his big deal and sit on the bench.

Lacoste - massive :| to that.

Saves me the effort of re-typing it.

If he won't get a game at Saints this season, they wouldn't want to loan him out another team in the Premier League that could be fighting them for relegation depending on how they start off [covering all bases]. A team expected to be at the top end of the Championship for a period on loan could massively help his development rather than sitting on the bench.

1. To get a game (maybe).

2. Knowledge of how Adkins works and knowledge that Adkins had some faith in him.

3. HIghest level club within easy travelling distance of where he lives.

That's three reasons I have thought of off the top of my head. I don't know if he wants a loan move/transfer if it is just talk, or if we would even want him but there are some less credible threads on here than this.

Oh, and Lacoste. If you see the thread on saintsweb mirroring this, there are several calls about him going on loan to a Championship team;

I particularly liked this one:

I'm pleased that he is hungry to play and certainly he'd do a secure job substituting for Cork, Schneiderlin or Davis if they're not available, tiring, or carrying a knock in a game.

But if he would prefer a loan out, how about reuniting him with Adkins at Reading?

rofl, two years ago we beat them to the championship, now we have their cast off as our manager and you want us to develop their players for them as well? This is too much.

We might even be able to get a friendly with them next season.

He isn't good enough to get in our first team. I would rather we look to our own young players where possible- someone like Tshibola or D'Ath would fill the same role.
