Speculative Madness - Florent Malouda

by Divvy » 19 Jun 2013 21:17

@Fozziebear17
Going to throw this to Reading fans see what comes back. Florent Malouda may be coming to Reading. On a free transfer.

@Fozziebear17
#readingfc Let's see if I'm right on Friday

@Fozziebear17
@RoryMcAnuff Let's see. NH with a player today

Another winger? Amazing if true. I can't see it though. It's the end for two wingers if true though.

Well he's certainly set himself up for an almighty fall if nothing comes of it. Isn't he 33 now? He might be useful, well of course he'd be useful, but these big names are a bit too much to take in. Great if true though, yes.

Makes a weird bit of sense - I think he played as a striker with drogba back in France at one point, so he could be the mystery french striker signing.

Another player who would be total mustard at this level. Little short termist for my liking though...

I think I'd rather stick with McAnuff. That's not to say that Malouda wouldn't be very good in the Championship, but he's 33/34? There are younger players I'd rather see us sign.

Malouda comes into that area of high-profile players who get hammered for everything that they do or say. I do'nt know, but if this guy is really professional, has kept himself fit and gives everything for the cause, he might be a great signing. If he has major flaws, you guys may know better than me, a lot of Newspaper stuff passes me by and I have'nt a definate picture of him in my mind. One thing sticks out though, if he signs for us it will not be on a huge salary. Would he come just to still play football and be competitive?

I'd say no to this... though he might do a good job, I'd really prefer it we brought in some decent young players.

"A squad can only have so many Drenthe's" or so the saying goes.

I doubt this will happen. I want quality but I don't want people who have nothing to prove. Young and hungry is still better for the champ.

Whilst I agree, I was thinking back earlier to how Redknapp got Pompey up, and that was with the aging Sherringham's and Merson's. You can always do with 3-4 experienced PL players.

We have plenty of wingers, and this guy is 33. No thanks.

Taking a look at his Twitter, I'd suggest that he's currently in Guiana....unless NH has wangled himself a few days over there to discuss terms!!

He's never struck me as a player that had the heart for a Championship season/battle.

Hammond likes exploring new areas. He found Simon Church in Huddersfield
