I've always quite liked Brighton as a club to be honest, and I go back to the Peter Ward days at the Goldstone.

Similar to us in many ways, nearly went out of business, like us, play in blue and white, like us, similar crowds had good teams over the years, and bad teams, like us.

It grieves me a bit if their fans have developed some sort of hatred of us, don't think it is worthy of them. If us nicking the odd player or manager from them irks them, fair enough, but it happens to all clubs.

When we aren't competing with them I quite like Brighton too. Their ground is lovely, next door to the mighty Sussex Uni, great pies, and my GF used to work in the hospitality boxes at the Amex serving Des Lynam his lunch!

However, they are rivals next season so that all goes out the window, and since they've moved to the Amex their fans have become ever more dramatic and plastic - the way the Amex emptied well before the end of the play-off semi was quite embarrasing

4 years in Division 1 (1979-1983) and an FA Cup losers medal in 1983, wow - how can we compete with that sort of history?

Also their new ground is poor, miles out from anywhere and not allowed to park within what seems like 10 miles.
