Hull's academy is Category 3, the worst one in the Premier League. I guess it makes sense that players at Category 1 clubs will have access to better training conditions and facilities and are more likely to be scouted by top clubs.

Furthermore, Reading's youth did itself pretty proud last year, and with alumni including the likes of Gylfi, Simon Cox and a good handful of our current starting XI; it must be a pretty appealing option. Plus I'd imagine Hull is a dump, even by Reading's standards.

I know we initially didn't get Cat 1 but I think the new training facilities at Bearwood should put us up to code, I suppose it just depend when our facilities get re-evaluated.
