Some Watford fans seem to think he is signing for them on loan? Would be a strange move as I would have thought Watford would be looking for someone more experienced than that and there is no point us loaning him out to sit on a bench eleswhere.

Maybe they see a season training with a Championship first team side and getting a few minutes here and there is worth it and more than he'd get here. Maybe Watford actually intend to play him. Maybe it's bollocks/

I'd be very surprised if any decision has been made on him this season. He's keen to make an impression on Nigel Adkins, and from his tweets he's working hard and enjoying it so far. It'll be up to him and NA to decide over the coming weeks if he's ready for the first team or needs a loan out to a League 1 club.

If he was contracted to Manchester United then nobody would bat an eyelid at him going to Watford.

The best 19 and 20 year olds are capable of playing in the Championship. Watford can't rely on international loans any more. IMO this would be ideal for us.

If he was one of the kids who are capable of playing in the championship, then why don't we hold onto him? I can't see that it's a great deal easier to get into the Watford side than to get into our side. Surely, if he stayed here, he would be training with the first team and would be on the bench now and then? Unless the loan is to somewhere he's gonna play every weak then it is to no advantage!

Agreed. Especially with us likely to lose Pogrebnyak. There's a great opportunity, even if we sign one striker this summer, for Samuel to get a chance in the team at some point. He needs to be around the team in training, and be coached by Adkins. It could be a big season for the boy.

Just got a striker today from Udinese to go along with Deeney and Forestieri so this certainly wouldn't be a starter.

Just a thought, given the timing of the original post. Is it not possible that the Watford fans got wind of Ikpeazu moving to Watford, and somewhere along the lines confusion has meant Samuel being linked? I am not saying he won't go there on loan just speculating.
