RoyallyFcuked Drenthe > HRK > Kebe > McCleary > McAnuff

^The Truth^

Drente - Played one game, too early to tell.
HRK - The jury is still out for me, didn't do much on Saturday.
Kebe - When he's not injured and more consistant, yes.
McCleary - Yes.
Obita - Young, bags of potential, unproven.
Jobi - Just don't understand all the hate this guy gets. We'll need him this season, with 40+ games and injuries to get through.

For some reason people on here have a problem with that.

Fantastic player, and The abuse he gets from our own fans is baffling - the only remaining scapegoat from MaccyDee? Whatever the reason, I'd be gutted to see him go!

I'd be quite upset if Jobi goes. Dependable, lots of assists, (most for us last season?), passionate, played out of position (left is NOT his strength) top player. Having said that it's hard to see who he can displace with the likes of Drenthe, Hal, Mac, Kebe (?).

But take into account
A) we need a strong squad as with 46+ games, suspensions, injuries, loss of form were going to need more players and
B) if we dont get an attacking midfielder we'll be relying on this same pool to fill that hole too

He must stay.

When HRK and Jobi play, Jobi still plays LW. He loves cutting inside. LW isn't out of position.

I agree with Sandman, top professional. He's been in a winning champ team. He will know how to win a league and we need the biggest squad possible.

He's not good enough to start any more but he would walk into 90% of other champ teams!!

Drenthe could go mad, HRK always inconsistent, Kebe injured, McCleary very decent, Mcanuff is championship winning captain, bags of experience, excellent fitness. Would be thoroughly pissed off if goes, has a large role to play this season. Adkins won't want him to go, even if not in main plans. Also, if Guthrie were to have a tantrum/ get pissed off I can see we'd rely on having three wingers rotating in a 4-2-3-1 formation, and in taht case we would need all 5.

All in all, lazy journalism from a daily shit mail writer.

From what I have seen most of last season, pre season and the game v Ipswich, how HRK keeps Jobi (or anyone else for that matter) out of any side is a complete mystery to me.

HRK - over rated, over weight and over paid.

Jobi - none of the above.

I am a little bemused. This random 'freelancer' has popped up on Twitter to say Jobi has been told he will not get a contract extension at the end of the season, Jobi has been told in AUGUST that he will not be getting a contract extension in JULY . Anyone see where I'm going with this? I am not the greatest JM fan, but for all the abuse he gets, he does seem to be our team's almost 7/10 player, week in and week out. NA has said he wants a big squad and competition for places, and yet he then tells one of the most experienced members of our squad that you can go at the end of the season, one game in, not exactly Mr Motivator is it? Think someone is piecing together him not playing Saturday (I honestly thought AM not playing was a bigger shock) with obvious links to Leeds etc. I still cannot believe that you would tell a player at the start of the season that you are letting him go at the end of the season, just in case he has a stormer and then says 'F*** You!' when you pull out a contract extension.

Or, what has actually happened is not related to the rumour on this thread.

Maybe no such discussion has taken place at all. It is a figment of someone's imagination (highly possible).

Maybe the club has said they won't discuss a contract until later in the season (extremely possible, given past form on this).

The probability of a cold "no extension is going to be there" is so unlikely that I have discounted it from the list of options.

Got to say I can't imagine that anyone with half a brain cell would have said nearly 12 months in advance that there is no contract on offer at the end regardless of how you play.

It is all probably a big non-story, but I'm IN for the Jobi love. If he'd have rolled the ball inside the post rather than just wide against Liverpool then it would have been up there with Giggs as an all time-best FA Cup goal, and check out the pinpoint cross which Church contrived to miss in the first half too. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0Hea0KZ4ys

Know that was 3 and a half years ago, but the man has talent and a great attitude. Never comes out with some of the Billy Big Bollocks cr@p that we hear from others...if only he could finish!!!!

Love the mongs on twitter who say it is 'disrespectful' to bench Jobi, let alone sell him.

Erm, how exactly? Managers bench players all the time.

I'm not a massive Jobi fan by any means and I think he's currently quite a way off being first choice. That said, we don't know how form will ebb and flow throughout the whole squad over the season. It could well be that *insert player's name* has a few stinkers and A.N. Other gets injured and suddenly Jobi finds himself as the first name on the teamsheet once again.

And even if none of that does happen, do we really want Jobi to be playing for one of our promotion rivals?

I actually think Jobi will make a good impact player off the bench.

I think HRK, when on top of his game (which wasn't Sat), is probably the best we have from last season's pick. He will probably score the most minute-for-minute as well, although a confident McLeary may challenge that.

Personally, I would pick the same team as last week but with Williams in for Karacan. I may put Mariappa instead of Morrison, but that's a preference thing and I am happy with those three in this division.

Agree with absolutely all of this (even down to the Mariappa for Morrison thing). It's a long old season and if we're going to continue with the same formation then we'll need all the wingers/creative players mentioned above at some point. And if there's one that isn't going to kick up a fuss when he's benched on occasion it's going to be McAnuff. I don't believe the rumours, but would be disappointed if they were true.
