Because I and most other football supporters are bored of seeing the same team win the league every year. Fergie going is the best thing to happen to the premier league in terms of making it exciting to watch again.

Man City have been in the shadow of United ever since most people can remember and like everyone else who support a smaller club they've had to put up with United fans everywhere lording it over them for years so it's good to see them sticking it to their traditionally bigger rivals whether they've spent loadsamoney is largely irrelevant.

Most people who grew up in the 90's/00's think the same way about Man United as an older person like yourself think about Lollerpool, big, arrogant with fans everywhere who smugly lord it over the fans of smaller clubs. In a decade or so people will probably be saying the same things about City as they did about Liverpool and do about United.
