Royal Ginger Sunderland, Palace, Cardiff, Hull, possibly Villa. I think he'd have a decent chance at a first place spot at any of these.

Not sure I agree with you re Cardiff, Hull and Villa. Cardiff - have Marshall and Lewis who are both good keepers, bought Simon Moore from Brentford in the summer, not sure they need another keeper. Villa brought Guzan back and the guy has looked great in the last 18 months, dont see McCarthy replacing him. And Hull only got MacGregor in the summer, not sure he would give up his spot that quickly.
And would McCarthy really want to move to Palace or Sunderland when they are both likely to go down in the summer?

All valid points. What i'm trying to say is that he's of a good enough caliber to be in those sides and on his day is probably better then they currently have, club politics aside.

Arsenal in for McCarthy.. At least they'd cough up, where as Newcastle would be less likely to.

Why would Arsenal, the best passing side in the country, want McCarthy with his distribution?

sandman Like he did against Swansea and Birmingham? Most of the time he only has to distribute it 5 yards at Reading but he still looks scared shitless doing it.
