Westwood52 9 for the Ref-you are having a laugh he was awful.St. Brynjar First game back from uni, really enjoyed it. Very exciting and but for Alex Pearce we probably would have come away with a point or three.
McCarthy - 7 - Distribution was much improved, excellent kung-fu save.
Gunter - 7 - Very confident performance with the obligatory crap pass near the end. Decent attacking threat.
Pearce - 3 - Woeful, I have no idea what he was trying to do for the second goal and yet I could see it coming from a mile off. Very poor performance.
Gorkss - 6.5 - Really liked him today, great in the air, calm with the ball at his feet. Wasn't great for the first goal but other than that looked like the player that got us promoted.
Cummings - 4 - Started brightly until the fans got on his back for no reason and confidence dropped like a stone. He was out of position to be fair.
Drenthe - 6.5 - Pretty exciting at times, but very frustrating at others. Didn't look fit.
Guthrie - 7 - Very frustrating. The first half showed why people don't like him but in the second he was mercurial, his passing was brilliant. We are incredibly reliant on him, the whole second half was clearance, give it to Guthrie, ball in the box, clearance etc.
Williams - 6 - Good energy and looks decent enough. Should have been sent off and his temper could cost us.
McAnuff - 6.5 - One of the only good players in the first half, faded a little in the second but justified his position in the starting line up. Surprised he didn't go left-back when Obita came on.
Pog - 7.5 - Was really excited to see the Pog revolution and he had bags of confidence, held it up extremely well and could have had a couple. Our best striker.
Sharp - 5 - Was okay, took one off for the penalty howler.
Obita - 5 - Didn't notice him much
McCleary - 7.5 - Should definitely start. Our most dangerous winger.
Alf - N/A - as usual did absolutely nothing.
Adkins - 7 - Made some bold changes (we had more strikers than defenders towards the end) but they made the right impact. 4-4-2 wasn't right for this game.
Fans - 0 - Just a bunch of miserable gits. Booing when we keep possession then booing when we hoof it forward in response. Booing the full-backs taking throw-ins when no one is showing, then chanting the overrated Le Fondre's name just after Sharp missed the penalty and was low on confidence.
Ref - 9 - Dealt with the game really well, only wrong call was not sending Williams off.

I'm not booing to motivate the players.
I'm booing because I'm angry at having to watch that shit, week in week out.
The players can either strive to play better, or they can go and cry in the corner. It's up to them.
If they continue to play like shit, I will continue to boo.
Football changed to an entertainment industry a long time ago.
If the players want to be treated like the common man rather than 'superstars' then they should ask for a 90% wage cut.
They are paid to entertain, they should remember that.

You clearly have only been a "fan" for a few years mate. Go and support someone else as booing your team becasue you are angry is childish bollocks.

First game was 15 years ago this boxing day.
Had a season ticket 10+ years. This is by far the dullest season I've seen.

MR. CYNICAL It seems that this discussion board has now been swamped by a bunch of bickering school children.
Anyone who has a different opinion to someone else is subjected to abuse and redicule.
Next time you are at a game and sitting near someone booing or getting on the teams back, call them a 'mong' to their face,
not on here hiding behind your pc or whatever.
You may get more than you bargained for!!

2 world wars, 1 world cup Note: I didn't watch the game. Since our oxf*rd this summer with transfers and being able to see what is blatant, I spend my hard earned money elsewhere when I couldn't be arsed. Nope, didn't even bother to listen to it. That's what messing around with promises gets you RFC. One of your loudest chantstarters down the years part responsible for many positive results, who now just doesn't give much of a toss.
If I was there though I wouldn't boo. Until the end. Anyone who boos during the game is, well, it's not my place to say after revealing the above. Do as you wish. You pay you money, you are entitled to do as you wish, but my advice is keep it for the end not during a game. If you want to send a message to RFC you'd be better off doing the honest thing and not turning up, like me. Tht way you send a message to the board but don't upset the players. Turning up lines the pockets of the lying board and upsets the players, who are only human trying their best.
Anyway with all the above negativity I don't know what the issue is really. Do people expect us to win every game?? When we win, we think we somehow have a God given right to win and get all upset because we didn't win 10-0 playing like Brazil, and when we lose all of a sudden hell breaks loose.
Let me spell it out for you: unless you're Arsenal playing by accident in League 2, games are going to be tough and no result is a foregone conclusion for anyone, ever. We have a team woefully understaffed and lopsided, which we now know (to the embarrassment of a number of overly positive morons here trying to defend the club this summer) is because things are not right at the club. No decent CB cover, no left back, no decent striker plan B, no attacking midfielder etc. On the other hand we've a good backbone of big wage players and a top top manager. So surprise surprise we win most our games and yes we lose a couple here and there, and yes we're a playoff side. All pretty expectable stuff.
Until we have some resolution as to what's happening at the top, we'll continue to have a poor manager brought in for his ability to spend with some balls and build a Prem team but without those promised funds, trying to carve out results with quite possibly the most unbalanced and lacking squad in the football league. We can't ask for more.
So either turn up and shrug your shoulders at the odd defeat and move on. Or don't bother going.

Man Friday 3 questions about the match.
Shouldn't we have had a pen for handball? Looked like it on the telly?
Did Pog hit the post at the end or was it a save from the keeper?
Why wasn't Nige (or anyone from Reading) interviewed after the match on the FL Show?
