3points I actually thought McCleary had a pretty average game.

P!ssed Off 1.56 am - I have arrived back at uni.
Today's game was quality.

We had the free-throwing attacking greatness that we saw against Watford at home, with virtually none of the defensive frailties.

Pearce's best game of the season for me. And the stats agree. 11 aerial duels won. 79% passing accuracy, including 2 key passes, an assist and 7 out of 8 long balls being accurate. He was a beast all game long,

Rest of the defence and keeper were solid.

Attackers were quality.
Le Fondre, Pog, McAnuff and McCleary all had excellent link up play and movement absolutely taking Blackpool to pieces.

McAnuff imo is playing the best I've ever seen him. Can't blame him for shooting when he should have squared it, if it had gone in that team move would have been goal of the season, he would have squared it if we weren't already 2-0 up anyway.
Not to mention that McAnuff is doing wonders for the progress of our wonderkid Jordan Obita.

Williams was the driving force through the centre of midfield that we so desperately needed against Ipswich. Akpan was good for the majority of the game but was a bit sloppy in the 15 minutes or so just before HT.

Great cameo from HRK. Showing all the doubters on here who whine that he's 'overrated'. He can score from absolutely nothing. His goal from 25 yards was no fluke, he came very close to scoring from the same position 5 minutes earlier. He'll be vital as our 3rd choice striker for the rest of the season.

McCarthy 7
Gunter 7
Gorkss 7
Pearce 9
Obita 7
McCleary 7.5
Akpan 7
Williams 8
McAnuff 8
Pog 8
ALF 10

HRK 7.5

Can't agree re Macanuff
He is a good foil for Obita and they work well in combination but he still flatters to deceive far too often.

He beats a few and then loses it. He gets in a great position but the final pass isn't there. It was criminal he didn't pass it to Alf, no excuses.

And he lost the ball on several occasions, wanting too long, once leading to their goal.

Funny shit, football. I thought Jobi was close to MOTM last night. Superb.

then, seeing as you are someone who writes a lot of sensible stuff on here, i can only assume his flattery has indeed deceived you!

Great game, Blackpool looked awful.

Great performances all round.

Kanu looks to have lost a hell of a lot lower body mass coming back from this latest and as such actually looked a lot quicker across the ground.

Anyone else notice this?

LoyalRoyal22 I missed the Bolton game, my first game since Forest at home. Was well worth pulling a sickie for :D

Just moving the ball quicker into wide areas which is what we are good at, but not much long ball, its all pretty short and crisp. I don't remember us getting these scorelines under Brian when we got promoted which suggests the team now is stronger than that team and we have better balance in terms of tempo and when to keep the ball. Individually if you look at it, we now have better full backs that push on, Williams is an upgrade on Ledge and we have Pav rather than Roberts/Hunt, also better squad depth. It is all set up for a late push.

McCarthy- 7
Gunter- 7
Obita- 7
Pearce- 7
Gorkks- 7
McCleary- 9
Jobi- 8
Akpan- 7
Williams- 7
Pav- 8
Le Fondre- 9

Beat Barnsley 4-0 at Oakwell which suggests to me that Brian's team was more defensively sound than this one and played at the same tempo.

Me too.

Was surprised to see Blackpool have given their number 4 shirt to Warwick Davis.

Here are the goals, if they haven't been posted already. Such a cool finish from Alfie for his third. http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=pl ... Uz0jwjLLPQ

Thought the whole team were brilliant last night, as previously said like how all of the little partnerships are forming up all over the park.

If we carry on at this rate at home, we might even make it to Adkins ridiculous pre-season 100 goals target!

Ta Pepe.

Pogs goal was a quality finish from a nice interchange with Alfie.
Good work from Pearce to set up Alfie for his second.
Cool finish for his third.
Another impressive goal from HRK (when he scores they are belters, aren't they?)

Home form nailed. Let's see if we can take this on the road, now.

Am enjoying this current good form, still, I do not understand how Blackman is playing at this level, he just isn't good enough.

Big up to Obita again last night. Must be such a shock to the opposition when our left back comes charging into their box. He's getting better defensively as well, did really well at one point to catch his man, then use his strength to shepherd it our for a goal kick.

It has taken nearly a year but Adkins now realises that a settled side often plays better together and changes don't have to be made every week even if we lose one game.
He also knows that there will be no other options for the rest of the season and we have to go with what we have got.
Last night was like watching a Coppell team pressing all over the pitch and great to see the unselfishness of Mc Cleary (again) in setting up Alf and likewise Alf when setting up Pog-a shame that Jobi got greedy.

I'm not with the Jobi love-in partly because of the greediness in not squaring the ball to Alf and partly for being greedy in midfield, losing possession for them to score.
Akpan and Obita need to spend some time learning how to head a ball but otherwise another very good performance all round against one of the lesser sides (without their best players, Ince and Ferguson) and now ,as Maguire posted, let's do the same against the better sides.

Croydon Royal
- Lovely goal from Pog. Delighted for him - not just because he looked so pleased himself, but also because it shut up the family of mongs who sit at the back of the North East corner by the drummer who constantly get on his back for the slightest wrong movement.

I bet they didn't notice Pog's run to create the space for McCleary to run into for Alfie's 3rd

I also thought that Hal had lost a few pounds and looked much the better for it
