Brum Royal Mine are going to be predominantly Midlands based as I have lived up here since the age of 4.

Dislikes:
Wolves - The neanderthal element of their support, the big club mentality which is finally getting knocked out of them
West Ham - all the reasons listed above.
Chelsea - it's not so much the money aspect, as raised in the point about not disliking Man City, it was the way they went about doing things, the arrogance, the dirty aspect to them, the neanderthal element to the fans. I did used to quite like them back in the days when they won the CWC and then Zola always used to be a joy to watch.

Likes:
Wolves - I went to school in Wolves, a lot of my best m8s are Wolves fans means I have a sympathetic attitude to them, the fact we generally seem to beat them
WBA - the best bunch of fans in the Midlands in my opinion, I always enjoy the trip up there, never any problem with them
Shrewsbury - the closest league club growing up
Telford - the closest non-league club growing up, used to go to a few games
Norwich - The first side I remember watching on TV, the European games in the early 90s - as a keeper myself Brian Gunn was an early hero of mine
Blackburn - My glory side growing up, really used to enjoy watching them play when they won the league and were in Europe
Arsenal - my current glory side in the Prem (ie team I want to win it), play good football, bring through a lot of youth players, loved watching Henry

Something in this seems contradictory.. Cant put my finger on it..

Pepe the Horseman Strangely, during my transition of Spurs fan to Reading fan, I toyed with the idea of supporting Blackburn or Norwich.

why did you transfer your loyalties from spurs to reading out of curiosity?

My dad took me to a Reading game

when the hell did all that shit happen?!? i barely remember any of that!

Old Kes was seriously scraping the barrel there.

The racist = defender John Mackie. Given a ban in 2002 for on the field racist abuse.
Drugs cheat(s). Appears Kes is stretching recreational abuse to sports enhancing there. Think he's on about this: http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/foot ... 05287.html
Player hiding in the bushes was Andy Bernal, a Reading player in the 90s. I'd forgotten about that.
A Chief executive who cheated with the managers wife: The only source on the internet for this is Kes himself so it's almost definitely untrue.
A youth team player who raped a girl: Think he's referring to this, http://www.getreading.co.uk/news/local- ... on-4211531
Mocking a player for getting a cracked skull: As a Chelsea fan, Kes is still upset about Petr Cech getting his head kicked in.
Throwing a seat at an old fan: A minor incident at Brighton away this season.
Fans fighting amongst themselves over a burger: A minor incident at Millwall away this season. The fight wasn't about a burger anyhow.

??

Definitely not scraping the Barrel. Some you have correct. Others you have wrong. The druggies were higher profile.
Chief exec thing isn't made up.
Fight at Millwall was over a burger according to my sauces ;-)

Oh I know, completely. There are some elements of Wolves that I absolutely can't stand, and there's a hell of a lot of thuggish, self entitled Wolves fans around and that part of the club I dislike immensely. The "like" element of Wolves comes more from my m8s, who are decent guys with a knowledgable outlook on the game, and that's what means I can't full on h8 them as a club.

No Fixed Abode
soggy biscuit
No Fixed Abode Quite ironic that many of you hate Chelsea due to Romans millions. Many of you said he would walk, sooner rather than later. Reading fans hated the concept of a free spending foreign owner 'buying' success.

Fast forward 10 years and TSI want to buy Reading FC. A 'rich' Russian owner with 'money' to spend. Rings a bell doesn't it? Suddenly Reading fans are excited at the prospect of competing with the big boys, buying top players. The irony is there for all to see.

Meanwhile, 11 years and many many trophies later, Roman is still at Chelsea whilst Anton Zingarevich had his 5 minutes of fame and left Reading quicker than Brendan Rodgers.

So for the time being, the 'Reading way' is back and the rich clubs are a scourge on our game. The only question is, will you have the opportunity to move the goalposts again?

I like how after all these years you still don't understand why people dislike Chelsea. Ever wondered why people don't hate Man City like that if it is the buying success we dislike so much?

Ladies and gentleman, I give you Reading FC.

Updating the top 10 hated clubs (no fun doing the same for the ones we like!) gives the following ...

West Ham - 27
Chelsea - 18
Wolves - 15
QPR - 14
Portsmouth - 11
Liverpool - 11
Man Utd - 10
Cardiff - 10
Leeds - 7
Swansea - 6

West Ham now in an almost unassailable lead but Pompey moving up the table from 8= to 5=

Interesting and perhaps not unsurprising to note this Top 10 list does not contain any of our traditional and historical local derby foes - Oxford, Swindon or Aldershot. Just goes to show it's perhaps now the recent frequency of grudge matches that matters.

To be fair, I avoided those obvious 3.

You can't hate Swindon, Oxford or Aldershot. It's like hating people in wheelchairs for being disabled.

HATE:
Wolves
QPR
West Ham
Leeds (when not managed by a ex-Royals legend...so currently only on my "dislike" list)

DISLIKE:
All the other ones not listed here

LIKE*:
Wednesday
Everton
Villa
Newcastle Utd.
*when we are not playing them

TEAMS I WILL SUPPORT:
There is, and will always be, only one

As far as Swindon, Aldershot and Oxford go, re: not being on my "hate" list...they are not even worth my time or effort to even consider right now.
