GeROFLROFLard.

Fair play to Chelsea for setting out their game plan and executing it well so far, although the time-wasting was pretty painful at 0-0, so god knows how bad the second half will be.

You have to hand it to Jose. Tactically perfect so far.

I wonder if the players will get any credit for the first half performance rather than Mr Bean their manager?
Chelsea-the new Wimbledon playing for throw-ins and corners.
Still, it sets the game up for a good second half.

Ah Victor. Are you crying into your Bovril? Never mind old chap.

The players deserve massive credit too obviously, but you don't win all the trophies Jose has without something about you. He knows how to get the big results when it matters.

Doubt he's crying, they haven't lost yet. Sturridge is coming on and you have to remember there is still the matter of the FA/PL bias towards them.

chelsea are so boring to watch...

here is their plan:
1. get the lead against the run of play by playing counter attacking football
2. put 9 men in the penalty area

They'll nick another one on 85mins just so Jose can walk off down the tunnel early.

What do you expect them to do then? Just roll over & get their tummies tickled? We're renowned for counter attacking football! Stands to reason they will try to defend their lead & make it hard for Liverpool to score - it's a title race FFS which Chelsea are back in should they win today - hardly surprising.

i am quite aware they are in a title race, and i wouldnt expect anything less. however, theyve done this in every damn game since the first week, and i was simply commenting on how boring they are to watch...

In this game, they are absolutely right to do that though but yes I do agree - I've not seen any Chelsea games where I've been entertained this season although I've not seen many.

Kudos to Chelsea though - if only Reading could have a defence like that.

Not sure I'd call pouncing on a Gerrard slip and then putting 7 defenders on the pitch as a tactical masterclass tbh

What is it with blind refs not being able to tell the difference between goal kicks & corners?!

How many times does Mourinho have to get these kind of results before people give him a bit of credit?

Textbook performance, excellent defending, totally nullified Liverpool. Still think Liverpool will win the league but let's hope City take it to wire with a win now.

Very much so, but 9 times out of 10 Liverpool win that game, but Chelsea got the breaks they needed so fair f*cks. A tactical masterclass in my eyes is finding a way to dominate a team and make the balance of play such that your team is more likely to win as a result. Not sure that's what has happened here.

Saying that...I seem to be thinking/saying this after every backs-to-the-wall win Mourinho's teams produce...so either he is the luckiest man on the planet or I'm missing something quite fundamental. I'm sure there'll be plenty on here telling me which of those options is more likely.

Actually they haven't. They were far too open early in the season when they lost to the likes of Everton and Stoke and that's when Mourinho said he would have to go back to being more defensive and solid.
