Throw the alternatives one in as well. Makes perfect sense.

Hoop Blah
soggy biscuit Hasn't Josh McEachran been the next big thing for about the last 4 years?

He's still only just turned 20, and looked very good the few times I saw him for Middlesborough last season. There's still plenty of time for him to break through, and its not easy getting into a team like Chelsea's at that age.

Not sure on the real youngsters but the next season could be big ones for the likes of Raheem Sterling, Nick Powell, Connor Wickham, Thomas Ince (depending where he goes), Luke Shaw, Will Hughes, Ross Barkley and Chalbolah.

A bits be said about the lack of English talent in the Premier League, but I think the standard of the Championship isn't far off what a lot of the young talent we had 15/20 years ago were playing at in the top flight so not sure it's a massive problem really.

Not a big progression for McEachran again, or some others like Ince or Zaha, but it was obviously a good year for Barkley, Sterling, Shaw and even Hughes and Wickham with the way the latter finished the season.

Another couple of players coming through who are worth keeping an eye on having seen them up against our youth teams are Patrick Roberts (Fulham) and Harry Wilson (Liverpool & Wales unfortunately) who both look outstanding attacking prospects. Roberts is currently tearing up the u17 Euros by the sounds of it too. It'll be interesting to see if he's unleashed on the Championship next season.

England in to the final of the European Championship U17s after beating Portugal 2-0 in the semis.
Goals from Dom Solanke and Patrick Roberts.
Solanke's goal a very decent chip. Roberts a deflected effort.

Scotland vs Netherlands in the other semi.

Interesting to see how the Dutch have so far managed to nullify the threat of Roberts.

Decent finish by Solanke.
Joshua Onomah at CM has stood out for us. Strong and fast, he's just powering though the Dutch midfield.
Defence were decent, apart from for the Dutch goal.

I read over the weekend that Ince has turned down a move to Inter already this summer.

I don't think he had a great season last year but it's interesting to see that our much derided young talent is (apparently) being recognised by over countries clubs.

Not sure where he thinks he's going to end up but he obviously doesn't think moving abroad is going to help him for some reason (£££ I assume).

True, perhaps his Dad's time Inter has put them off sending him over there.
