Wasn't big Hec the one who set up Cummings' goal as well? Nice!

I don't want him to go, because I think he does offer something to the squad. However, he certainly won't be near the league starting line-up any-time soon (especially if Hammond comes in). I suspect he'll be off. Shame.

Giving Akpan credit for the occasional sideways pass is missing the point. We conceded a lot of chances last year and the six months before that from teams passing through the middle of our midfield. Akpan so often jogs around in a circle of grass while opposition play bypasses him. It's not even a case of being a poor tackler like Guthrie, Akpan reads play so badly he is pointless defensively.

But he comes alive in the opposition penalty box, and his long 40 yard passes are brilliant. He just rarely get a the opportunity to show this and that is because Guthrie and Williams are even better. We just had an unbalanced squad and that is why a central defender in hector and a less swash buckling footballer in Taylor are better options in this squad.

So for me he won't be missed but could be a championship attacking midfielder at least for someone else.
