Chelsea's England Under-21 striker Patrick Bamford has been a loan target for several Sky Bet Championship clubs, but now it seems Reading are set to win the race for the 20-year-old. Bamford, who joined the Blues from Nottingham Forest in 2012, has had previous spells at MK Dons and Derby.

Yes oxf*rd please. Always rated him whenever I've seen him play, would be a perfect fit for us. Hopefully we actually can beat Boro to his signature.

Karanka's comments in the press suggest that he doesn't think Bamford's going to Boro.
