It was as bad as it looked at the time.

RoyalBlue Both he and McCleary had worked the opening really well. The easiest part of the whole move should have been to have poked the ball into the back of the net! Believe you me, the miss looked even worse from behind the goal!

At the time I thought it was just too far in front of him tbh.

It was how I remembered it at them time - he somehow managed to lift his left leg right over the ball to allow it to roll underneath! It must have been harder to miss the ball than hit it!

He didn't even kick the ball!

I'm wondering if he was trying to do something flash and just ended up on his arse looking stupid.

I think you've hit the nail on the head - at the time it looked like he was trying to flick the ball into the net.

Having just watched it for the first time it wasn't half as bad as I was expecting having read the comments on here.

That being said, he really should've been able to get a touch on it and, at the very least, got a shot off that forced the keeper into a save.

Unfortunately Blackman just isn't quite good enough to perform at the level we need him to.

That is woeful from Blackman. He's given a perfect ball unmarked 6 yard out and can't even compose himself to get a shot away :| . Not good enough. That is 2 points he's cost us in recent weeks, his miss against Watford was even worse.

Also duly noted Hector traipsing back from somewhere west of no man's land for the winner FFS. He's been a massive disappointment for us. The only positive I guess would be that at least he is in the team and learning from the many mistakes he is making. I wish he'd learn a bit f*cking quicker, mind.

Look at Pearce's positioning for the winner though. If he was marking Ruiz, why didn't he get tighter as the ball came over.

What the footage from that angle fails to show is the amount of empty goal that was in front of Blackman - any sort of contact would have beaten the keeper. The opening that his movement and McCleary's perfectly weighted pass created was unbelievable. The Fulham fans in front of us already had their hands approaching their heads!

Who was the lad who got sussed by the Pyro dogs when he went in around 2pm? Looked fun as he was taken into a porta loo type thing for secondary!

I thought Blackman at least got a touch on it at the time.
That is a pathetic attempt.

Unless I am losing the plot I thought there was a worse attempt by Blackman where he fell over when an outstretched leg across the goal was an easier option from a Mccleary cross!

I only recall the one incident
I think maybe it just looked quite different from behind the goal
