I dont actually remember GoH happening too many times in the past. More of a johnny foreigner type of thing isnt it?

Heard Rodgers saying he was doing it as it is tradition here and I was all WTF?

I may be completely wrong as I just dont watch all that much PL football these days tbh.

Seems fair to me.

The best player of the best team should win the awards.

As for a team getting a guard of honour, I seem to recall that Birmingham City wanted to give Reading a GoH before the last game of the season when we last won the Championship, but the Football League prevented them from doing so, citing the potential for "crowd trouble" iirc!

Seemed a petty and vindictive thing to do at the time.

Does his manager still hate it when people hand out individual awards or does he not mind when it's his own player winning them?

On this day in 1998 we won the Cup Winners Cup. We never won anything pre-Abramovich.

It's only natural Paul. People get jealous of success. We've seen that this week with Labour supporters.

Zola, what a player. Used to love watching MOTD to see him. Wish the highlights are as good as they are now, compared to back then.

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce we have agreed terms with Atletico Paranaense for the transfer of Nathan.

The 19-year-old Brazilian will join us on 1 July. Nathan, who has passed a medical and agreed personal terms, has earned a reputation as an attacking midfielder with an eye for goal and impressive pace.

Nathan said: ‘I am very happy to be joining Chelsea, the champions of England, and I hope I will be able to learn a lot and develop my game.’

Nathan, full name Nathan Allan de Souza, has represented Brazil at Under-17 and Under-20 level. He scored five goals in five games at the Under-17 World Cup in 2013 before being named in the team of the tournament.

Looking forward to seeing him on loan with a Championship club in the near future.
