Swansea Online says...

The Swans are looking to strengthen their youth set up with the signing of Barnet striker Matt Stevens, according to the Daily Mail.

Reports are that the Swans have had a £250,000 offer turned down for the 17-year-old, who has scored more than 50 goals for the Barnet U18's this season. Before that he scored 32 goals for Reading's U16's but was surprisingly released by the club.

He became Barnets youngest ever first team player, and Martin Allen rates him very highly. It would seem that the League Two club are holding out for a bigger offer to cash in on the young prospect.

The Barnet boss signed the player as a midfielder but ended up playing him up top and it proved an excellent managerial decision, with the 17-year-old returning a massive amount of goals.

Stevens would add to the quality in our youth set up, and over the past few seasons we have brought players up from the U20's into the first team. The likes of Ben Davies and Joe Allen have both gone on to impress in the first team and earn a move to a top 6 side.

Often happens in Spain, they bought Carvajal back from Leverkusen a couple of years ago. They also have a deal in place to buy back Morata from Juventus this year or next, doubt he'd be too popular in the dressing room though.

Carvajal & Morata were sold to other clubs. Casemiro wasnt sold to another club, he was loaned out. Porto also get another €7.5M in the future if Real Madrid sell him too.

Not really in the spirit of things this.

Barca sign Vidal now, but he can't play for them until January 2016, as a result of Barca's transfer ban.
Seems a pointless 'ban' if they can still sign players in the meantime.

So Liverpool's current strikers are Sturridge, Balotelli, Origi, Borini, Lambert, Aspas, Ings, Yesil, Sinclair.

I think that's a good and sensible move for all concerned.

Ings is just what Liverpool need in terms of mobility and work ethic without Suarez, and with Sturridge perhaps a bit fragile. He's obviously not the same quality or style as Suarez but he'll be a massive upgrade on Balotelli in most respects.

For Ings, and England, it's a good move as he'll have a much better chance of playing a good number of games and will hopefully continue to kick on like Sterling, Sturidge and Henderson have done under Rodgers. If he'd gone to United I'm not sure he'd have played as much.
