Wasn't he played on the right at Cardiff under Solskjaer, and then frozen out under Slade?

Yes I believe so, TBH they probably think of him the same way we do other players that we have. That they would like to get his wages off the wage bill and he isn't a fit for Cardiff. Hence why the ball is in the court of the buyer as they would probably just want to get shot of him to free up wages. I know im dreaming but it would suit us to have him back and his fee would probably be a fraction of what they paid.

I wouldn't be unhappy to see Le Fondre return.

Morrison on the other hand has off the field behavior issues and I wouldn't want the negative press nor the corrupting influence on our younger players.

Good player, doesn't work with Pog, might with Cox, Sa or Samuel.

Probably a bit pricey for what he is.

Love him but I'm inclined to look forward not back. Swap with Pog would be awesome.

More interested in someone who can play left back or wing.

Hendo
linkenholtroyal I think it's a simple form of mathematics, we could get 1 or 2 good seasons out of Donaldson if he signs, but could get 3 maybe 4 out of Alfie. If swap deal for HRK can we have Morrison back aswell in stead of the 1.5 million. Morrison hector and mcshane would have cb well and truly covered. (It's nice to dream)

I would quite like to see the development of Cooper rather than having Morrison back. While I rated him while he was here (couldn't give a toss about the one finger salute)*, I think Cooper has great potential and I would hate to see the development pushed back just because of Morrison.

*That was Mills.

Rollerbob A vastly overrated footballer. (Mainly by Reading fans). Totally found out since leaving Reading.

It's funny how you can say that about Le Fondre, but many of our fans (probably including you and the like) still worship overated, inconsistant and frankly average footballers such as Kebe and McAnuff. ALF has actually scored goals wherever he has been (except Cardiff) and proved on loan at Bolton for the latter part of last season that he can still score at this level.

Don't forget that there has been a few decent players here that have moved on and found out that the grass isnt greener elsewhere.
Doyle, Kitson, Shorey, Sonko etc.

Clearly Bolton's fans rated him.

Depending on his wage demands, I'd certainly have him back!

In two minds about this one. As great as he was for us, I think he's an impact player. Can't see him putting up with that again.

And previous players we've brought back haven't reproduced anything like their past performances. Nice nostalgic thought, but on balance, not for me.

Agree with every word of this. Kebe was hugely inconsistent, yet the majority seem to forget this.

Considering ALF's bit part, he did brilliantly for us and is probably the best out and out striker we've seen at the club.

Better than Donaldson IMO, however he is a different type of player.....

Would take him back on loan each january when he put in effort while pimping himself around the footballing world but no so interested in the Le Fondre of the other 11 months where he was gash

Ironically the BBC referred to him as "Reading's Adam La Fondre" when he was spotted at Wimbledon the other day - needless to say just naff reporting rather than them being ITK :) Although never really his greatest fan I would probably welcome him back but as others have alluded to - if it were on the cards it would most likely already have happened.

Erm, yes I can.

When they were here, we mostly used two defensive midfielders and, except for Bertrand, defensive full backs. Kebe and McAnuff were our only sources of creativity... and we got to the playoff final and then got promoted (and had another playoff campaign under Kebe, 7th place with McAnuff, and a playoff-form second half of the season after Rodgers was sacked). Kebe was twice second in the POTS voting.

Just to prove it, here are their individual stats:

Jimmy Kebe
2008-09 41 appearances 2 goals 11 assists
2009-10 42 appearances 10 goals not very many assists
2010-11 36 appearances 9 goals 7 assists
2011-12 33 appearances 3 goals 10 assists
2012-13 16 appearances 5 goals 2 assists

Jobi McAnuff
2009-10 36 appearances 3 goals 10 assists
2010-11 40 appearances 4 goals 9 assists (plus a goal in the play offs)
2011-12 40 appearances 5 goals 11 assists
2012-13 38 appearances 0 goals 7 assists
2013-14 35 appearances 2 goals ? assists

You don't get those sorts of numbers unless you are a quality winger at this level.

As for inconsistency, would argue Kebe's biggest flaw in his final three seasons for us was that he was too much of a steady Eddie, 7/10 performances most weeks and not enough 8 or 9/10s. McAnuff was the epitome of consistent, it would have been nice if he could shoot...

tl;dr: you don't know what you're talking about.

Cureton?

I guess by out and out striker what that means is someone who doesn't do anything else and clearly Kitson, Doyle and Roberts all offered something else - the ability to hold up the ball, tackle and link up play.
