Except you never won the European Cup.

Except I said 'a' European trophy.

Except you never won the European Cup.

The big teams won the big trophies, you won the Community Shield of European competition.

That is true Kes but it took Chelsea until 1997 to win as many FA Cups as Bury.

re: Football Club History

at some point the clubs with 'history' spent more than the clubs that don't have 'history'

I agree entirely, money brings success brings money although i would suggest that those with a long "history" of sustained success achieve this more organically and unfortunately in the modern game it is nigh on impossible to win trophies without money

And let's not forget our success was more of a progression that at Man City.

We were winning trophies prior to Roman taking over.

Another pre-season defeat for Chelsea last night. Surprised they had one so close to the start of the Prem. Weird timing?

We started our pre-season a little late this year, so probably why we played last night.

A crowd of over 41,000 for a friendly. Wasn't it under 5,000 v Espanyol for you guys?

That's not bad for a friendly. Those tourists might be able to fill up those empty seats for your CL games.

TBM tbf, would you shake the hand of someone who doesn't like/respect you and does nothing but put you down in front of the media etc?!

I've definitely shook Silver Fox's hand before.

Not quite sure of your point, m8 ? Reading are a much smaller club, and never been bankrolled by a Russian Billionaire. Differences in attendance will always be.

But we were much bigger than Reading under Ken Bates too. So as usual I don't see your point.....
