Team for Wolves (A)

by TheBaldOne » 23 Dec 2015 13:06

So Brian could have more options now the injured lot have had more time to recover. I reckon we could see a 4-3-3 formation, reverting back to 4-4-2 if we're looking for a goal late on.

HRK Sa Blackman

Norwood Hector Williams

Quinn McShane Ferdinand Gunter

Bond

(or if Ferdinand is still injured.. )

HRK Sa Blackman

Quinn Norwood Williams

Taylor McShane Hector Gunter

Bond

If Taylor and Sa are fit I'd play:

Bond
Gunter, Hector, McShane, Taylor
Williams, Norwood, Quinn
Blackman, Sa, Vydra

I suspect McDermott will go with:

Bond
Gunter, Hector, McShane, Taylor
Blackman, Williams, Quinn, McCleary
HRK, Vydra

Vydra can't play the lone striker role.

If someone would spot any of his runs ever, he might be alright at it.

Any Watford will tell you the kid needs a strike partner, and they had no problem with players spotting his runs.

He's certainly no good isolated on his own against a deep defence.

I think he could do alright if he got support and was against a high line, as long as balls weren't boomed to his head and chest.

But what sane manager is going to play a high line against his sort of pace, without Usain Bolt at the back.

Teams played high lines against Shane Long.

I think a front two of Piazon and Vydra would tempt teams to play a high line, particularly strong teams playing at home. You've got to restrict Piazon's space.

Half an eye to the fact that they have another game in two days Hurtado and John to get a bit of a look in?

Here at the stadium Wolves TV reckons it's Williams right back, Gunter left, and Quinn with Norwood in midfield. Surely not?
