Boro gazette say £9m upfront with a further £2M in add ons. Huddersfield to get 20% of any profit Blackburn have made on the transfer fee. (No idea of the breakdown of his transfer to Blackburn or how much has been paid so far)

Boro pull out at the 11th hour apparently. Rhodes says he is 'confused at what has happened' having passed the medical and been given a tour of the training ground.

Probably just good banter from Middlesbrough tbh

Middlesbrough forum claims Rhodes demanded £55k a week with an increase to £90k a week on promotion. Him not going apparently means 3 much needed signings for Blackburn will fall through. Blackburn fans going nuts at Rhodes.

Reports that the Rhodes deal is back on.

Sounds like Remy may well be on his way to Leicester on a permanent deal

Pritchard has joined West Brom on loan for the rest of the season. I think I'd seen that he was going back to Brentford yesterday and was a bit gutted he wasn't coming to us instead.

I reckon that's a good move for him as he'll have a much better chance of proving himself there than at Spurs. I really like the look of him as a player.

'greed. A good end of season with West Brom and I wouldn't put it past him to at least figure in and around the first team next season at Spurs. certainly Pottecino doesn't share the reluctance a lot of Premier League managers have for trusting young English players.

Interesting transfer at Cardiff.

They are currently under a transfer embargo so can't sign players permanently. They wanted Kenneth Zohore from Odense but Odense only wanted to sell him. So Cardiff couldn't get him,

Zohore then moves to Belgian club Kortrijk - who are owned by one Vincent Tan. He leaves the club immediately on loan to Cardiff therefore circumventing the transfer ban.

I always thought the transfer bans were effectively player registration bans meaning you can't take anyone new no matter what form they arrive in.

(obviously not if this ^ is the case. stupidly big hole left in the punishment really)

Yeah, that, pretty stupid loophole really.

Barcelona's ban stopped them registering players - but behind the scenes they were still able to ratify transfers, and they registered 72 players the day their 'ban' expired.

I think the transfer embargo under FFP penalties (if that's what we're referring to) doesn't stop the club signing anyone. They just basically have to sell/release someone on a higher wage before they can bring in a replacement so having just sold Joe Mason it frees up a loan spot.

That's a rather crude way of putting it and it's a bit more complex than that I'm sure but that would be why FFP embargoed clubs can still bring in new players to the club.
