Depends on the fee, for me.

Maybe Hammond can convince them to put the £2.5m loan fee towards a £6m transfer and we get him for £3.5m. That would probably constitute good business.

For £10m? No way.

Think Kermogant will be on the way out next season and Deniss will mostly be on the wing, giving us a strike force off Vydra, Liburd, Samuel, and Kermogant with Rakels, Barrett and Novakovich as back up.

As for Vydra-am not sure.
I liked the player when he was at Watford first time around but the fact that they were prepared to loan him out twice, that he did nothing at West Brom and for us has generally been a 6/10 player all mean IMHO he is not worth more than £2million let alone the £10 million that supposedly was his agreed fee if we took up the option to buy.

I think we have too many players that are o.k. in patches but you always feel could do more (I don't mean just running around for 90 minutes but contributing more regularly), e.g. Gunter, Obita, Kanu, McCleary, John, Vydra.

Nothing prevents them for selling, say Williams, for £3m and spending big on a player. Or spending big on a player anyway (Sa was well before we sold Hector) and none of that addresses the wage bill.

Frankly, even though a class act will probably emerge from this grossly under performing player, he's not worth a million in his current form and even that would be too bigger risk for us as we enter our last season of parachute payments.

I'd much prefer a punt on Adam Le Fondre, currently out on loan at Wolves and collecting splinters on their bench.

He's proven in the past he's the real deal at this level, and his all round play for us has been good, unfortunately it's just the bit which counts where it hasn't worked out for him and us this season.

I like the guy and I'm sure he will come good at some stage but spending millions on him when what this talented squad so desperately needs is someone who can convert their undoubted creativity into goals would, frankly, be madness.

I would love Vydra to stay but Watford will have to get real on his valuation.

With all the new TV money that Watford will be receiving next season they won't be under any financial pressure to sell him so may hold out for a valuation that no one will be willing to meet.

I hope we can persuade Ola John to stay with us next season. He will surely be a first team regular next season. The only thing in his way is his own fitness.
