Those officials are going to be embarrassed as they drive home without their fog lights on

IceIceGylfi Apparently the EFL policy is for the tickets for the replay to not be free, but half-price. IMO that is a bloody disgrace; my Dad had to pay £28 to come today. An extra £!4; not to mention travel, food and other concessions. Ridiculous. I reckon the only reason the game went on to the halfway mark is because of the American marching band. I wouldn't have minded if it had been called off in the first half, but at HT I spent about £7; plus the fog was starting to clear.

The Football League policy is that clubs must have a publicly stated policy. The club's publicly stated policy is that tickets will be half price. They may, for good PR, offer to reduce that. The FL does not control ticket prices.

There's no way the match was continued for the marching band. The referee alone makes the decisions, not the club. I think the best conspiracy you could come up with would be that the ref told the relevant people he was abandoning it when he went down the tunnel, but the club waited to announce it. That doesn't explain why McShane went to warm up.

John Madejski's Wallet Lets face it, the 'fog' would have got worse again second half as it mostly consisted of the breath/body heat of the fans hitting the cold, damp air..... of course it was going to clear at half time. In the same way the temperature always drops at HT

The weather had been like the first half all day with the Stadium empty so poor excuse I'm afraid.

Yeah that's the point :|

It was the fans making the 'fog' thicker. It was pretty clear before the game, got thicker the longer the half went on, then cleared at HT.

So when the tannnoy fella said (lied) that the fog was thicker outside the ground than in, he was probably looking at all you smokers?

The fog was thick all day without any fans present so their presence did not make it any thicker than it had been during the first half. It lifted at half time of its own accord not because of the fans.

and as a sideshow......

My lad, his 3rd or 4th gig as a steward gets a real 'collectors item' of a game (the last abandonment being nearly 13 years ago)....gets threatened with 'getting his legs broken' by one of his own mongtard fans because of the oxf*rd up by Linington.....

lol .....he's only 18 and still at school....but cracks heads for fun in his chosen sport

Bollox, you could see it coming off the fans, lifting to the stadium roof and then spilling out from under the roof into the 'bowl'. We all knew it would clear at HT as soon as the fans moved

Also, bye to Charles Watts whose last game was today, only felt like mentioning it because I liked his coverage of Reading so it's a shame to to see him go but he moves into a role elsewhere where he gets to cover Arsenal and as an Arsenal fan, well, he wasn't going to say no.

At least we can have another go at working out to shore up our left hand side. That right full back has some pace. Can see why Harriott was asked to play a more defensive role in an attempt to counter the overlaps. Fulham worked some good positions and failed to capitalise.

James Linington is an utter cnut. He could of started the second half and if the fog got worse then OK abandon it. Very angry this thick twat has wasted thousands of people's evenings through his poor decision.

I left at half time full knowing what was happening....

First walk over was to let manager and security steward advising conditions were bad and warning them that if it does not get better then abandonment is on cards as officials could not see across pitch.

Second trip to the sidelines was to prepare evacuation, stewards ready, buses ready etc...

Knew it was off and took decision to go... walking across car park I thought it was getting better and was I been foolish and from my own refereeing days made the wrong call....

Avoided traffic and home in no time.

At the time of the second visit to the sidelines from the referee I fully understand the decision but looking at pictures on twitter it significantly cleared. He will get roundly boo'd on his next visit.

I think it suited both teams to have that game called off. Fulham and the distraction of Martin and Reading because Fulham has got on top of this.
