One step forward, then a step straight backwards.

It seems to me there's a serious issue for us at home. Bar last season we haven't won double figure league games there since we got promoted. This season we're 5 away 3 at home. The players just don't seem comfortable or happy playing there. Clearly there's a massive problem on the pitch, training ground and in the dugout... but it seems the home crowd isn't helping either.

I think the Burton win probably means Stam will survive this set back, but another poor performance and result against Middlesbrough and time'll probably be called.

It's nothing like that. In football it's the amount of goals that count nothing else ultimately

I'm not sure you understand.

Be assured I do, I just can't get hung up on stats which count for nothing.

No, you clearly don't.

The notion that one shouldn't care how many shots the opposing team has had just because they haven't scored is ridiculous, especially during a game. If it was half time and we had 5% possession and conceded 30 shots, 20 on target the 10 which hit the crossbar you're telling me you wouldn't care because we didn't conceded? Do you realise how stupid that sounds. Performing horrifically against another team isn't a reason for concern just because we hadn't conceded yet?

Baffling.

Think I'd rather be 11th in the Premier League than nearly in the Championship relegation zone playing the worst football anyone, anywhere.

I think it's fair to say Everton's expectations are a little different to Reading's.

I’d take that in the prem but without Stam in the dugout. From your post you wouldn’t, you'd rather be us right now?

Nope I'm saying that we are currently in no position to say things like "at least we aren't Everton" or laugh at them losing.

I keep thinking back to Jan 2016ish swhen Brian came back - we had a load of loanees that did not want to be here - we were safe in mid table , had another decent cup run and then the unthinkable happened Nicky Hammond left the club. Suddenly we get a Dutch DOF (who's only quality I can see is a "real housewife of.." missus, a Dutch manager who thinks Joey VDB is the new Viera and Ron Gourmless.

Where next?

Yes, it's not the first time you've claimed I'm self-important. I'd like you to explain to me why you think I am? Seeing as it seems to be your default position when you can't defend your own opinions.

I've never claimed I'm the god of footballing opinions. All I've ever done to you is counter your arguments and ask you to justify your viewpoints.

Hey, listen Genome we’re all in the same boat. We all support the same club. The way I see things is that early season anyone who dared to highlight a weakness within the team or management structure would be shot down on here. I’m just glad you’ve finally woken up, although surprised it took someone like you so long to smell the coffee.

My justification as to my opinion this entire season of both Stam and the club can be seen by looking here. http://www.skysports.com/championship-table

So you can't explain why you think I'm self-important.

Cheers then.
