Seen a lot of his team's over the years have you? What is it you like about the journeyman Portuguese manager who you hadn't heard of until an hour ago?Royal_jimmy wrote:Yes please. We'd have some tempting to get him in though

If it means in 2 years' time we're 7th in the Premier League, why not?KentRoyal wrote:Should we just rename the club “Wolves ‘B’ “

This would pretty much apply to many foreign managers, wouldn't it? Are you saying we should never hire them, or just not at this particular specific point in time?Snowflake Royal wrote:Say no to yet another flake with no knowledge of us or the Championship who'll be in for a rude awakening at how tough the Championship is, how shit we are and how much utter mediocrity costs over here.
Mainly this point in time. But yes, it applies to anyone with little or no management experience or little experience of English football below tier one. Although neither of the Portuguese located suggestions would really inspire my confidence at any point.Denver Royal wrote:This would pretty much apply to many foreign managers, wouldn't it? Well, that would rule out most managers we've appointed in the past 35 years, you know, Branfoot, McGhee, Quinn & Gooding, Pardew, McDermott etc, etc. In fact, everyone bar Porterfield, Coppell and Adkins.Snowflake Royal wrote:it applies to anyone with little or no management experience or little experience of English football below tier one.
It wouldn't rule out Rodgers, Coppell, Pardew, McDermott, Clarke, Stam, Gooding, Quinn, McGhee, Bullivant or Clement - because they've all managed in the Championship (or equiv) with us. In fact the only one it would rule out from the last 25 years is Burns. And he's dead anyway. From Despair To Where? wrote:Well, that would rule out most managers we've appointed in the past 35 years.Snowflake Royal wrote:it applies to anyone with little or no management experience or little experience of English football below tier one.
But at the time we appointed them many didn't have management experience. When we have appointed somebody with championship experience it hasn't gone specifically better than when we didn't.Snowflake Royal wrote:It wouldn't rule out Rodgers, Coppell, Pardew, McDermott, Clarke, Stam, Gooding, Quinn, McGhee, Bullivant or Clement - because they've all managed in the Championship (or equiv) with us. Not that any of them would be a good and available appointment right now. Except Clement, or very very maybe Pardew.
