Ordinarily I'd say he got me hook, line, sinker & copy of Angling Times, but this is John Smith we're talking about...genome wrote:It's like they've never read a John Smith post before.
Wages and injury record are the issue I think.Hound wrote:was released months ago Genome - if we wanted him, and he wanted to come back, I expect he'd already be training with us

It's absolutely true that what we need most right now is a midfielder who can pick up the ball outside our D and dribble the length of the pitch, ignoring better placed team mates, only to either blast 20 yards over or walk into a tackle 90% of the time.genome wrote:Wages and injury record are the issue I think.Hound wrote:was released months ago Genome - if we wanted him, and he wanted to come back, I expect he'd already be training with us
But I was generally a big fan of him while he was here. A fit and firing Williams alongside Rinomhota would be excellent IMO.
I liked him too, and I think in the right set up he could be very good. It's just that wasn't really the set up we had or were trying to have. And the ship has sailed. He's a couple of years and injuries older.Hound wrote:You forgot ‘and appeal in vain for a foul’
I liked him but I think there are a lot of better options out there

Let me real off a few (not sure how long you've been watching) who are better:
Caskey
Sidwell
Harper
Osbourne
Brebner
Gooding
And those are just the ones I can think of right now. Williams time with us can be categorised thusly: 75% of his time with us bang average and 25% very good.
Agreed; and.. (going back in time)Tilehurstsouthbank wrote:What the actual oxf*rd?John Smith wrote:In a heartbeat.
