genome A team "taking time to gel" is one of those annoying football buzz-phrases that doesn't actually mean anything

Unsurprisingly you've clearly never played football at any sort of level of you think you can chuck 6-7 new players into a team end expect them to play as a team instantly.

In fact, I doubt you e never kicked a ball in anger in your life.

2 world wars, 1 world cup
Wasn't being critical. It just strikes me as a word that will get a lot of use.

Hehe no worries :)

I could say cohere,... any English boffins out there have a good single word we might use instead?

You're right though, I think it will be a feature in our discussions for a lot of this season.

Let’s not run before we can walk, they need to coagulate first

Ugh. That’s followed by scabbing and dropping off. At least we’re at the bottom already.

How about sticking to the same zone of the blanket?

Hopefully the players will all mousse quite quickly.

I'm looking forward to when they're fully brylcreamed as a team.

How come teams need to “gel” to play well, but play badly when they are having a sticky patch?
