Oh it would absolutely mean booting out the league. I am just talking more about what happens to their place in the league. Not allowing them to have played a game leaves the FA's options quite open
Going on what has happened in the past - Bury wll simply never have existed as far as the 2019/20, so each team will play 44 games. It will likely through up an anomoly at the end of the season in that Bury's last 2 games are Pompey and Fleetwood - both fancied to be around the play-offs this year (or auto) - could see Fleetwood play their final league game on 25th April and potentially have a 10 day gap to the play-off semi finals. Would that be a blessing or a curse?
As for other matters, would expect 3 to go down from L1 and usual promotion from L2 - open question would be if the decide to remove a relegation spot from L2 or decide to award a 3rd spot from the National League. Would probably prefer the latter as better to reward a good side than protect a poor one.
