Do we need 6-8 signings? The last thing we need is lots of players trying to bed in. Of course we need to improve the squad but 4 would be sensible. The starting team on Saturday was promising & I’d like to see us build on that.

But we waste a lot of time on here debating transfers & formations, when we literally have no idea what direction the club is going in lol

It may be more boring, but unfortunately (or fortunately as I see it) picking the same side each week with a smaller close-knit squad tends to be the strategy that the successful teams in this league are built on. Leeds, Brentford last season, our 05/06 team. That team took years of building. There were a few additions who became 1st team regulars, but it wasn’t a wholesale change. That tends to be the key to success.

But who cares, Dai wants to dice with death instead and we’ll remain bottom half, rather than building each season

I would be disappointed with Bowen if he accepted this. If he really wants to be a manager he should refuse the Dai's offer and find a job elsewhere to be a football manager.

Regressive step given what we've had to ensure the past few seasons. The crowd will simply continue to dwindle. If this wasn't our club that is a laughing stock it would be funny, if you think of our fall from grace since JM sold out to the Russian con man it's quite shocking. In a way it's a shame we don't have a smaller ground as our place is going to be half empty and souless for years to come. I'll probably get abused and told good riddance, but after thirty five unbroken years as a season ticket holder I'm done with the club. I'll still watch them probably more away than home, but I've had it with this current lot from top to bottom , it's rotten to the core, with the exception on Kingsley Royal.

Is there actually any substance in the rumours of Bowen moving upstairs other than a few local journos spaffing about on Twitter?

Bowen's done an OK job as manager and I think he's good for the club so actually seeing him move to a role with a bit more job security wouldn't be a to bad as long as we replaced him with someone with a bit of nous.

One thing for sure though, the level of clarity and communication from the club is appalling.

No, but they could make a statement clarifying Howe's move and confirming that Bowen is moving upstairs to work as DoF or Sporting Director alongside a new, as yet unappointed first team head coach. I appreciate it's probably lip service but it would knock all the conjecture and bullshit on social media on the head. Some clarification would be helpful because the majority of fans seem bemused and pissed off and that doesn't reflect well on them.
