I'm easy. Would prefer a ten myself, but whatever people want.JR wrote:Can I suggest we keep it as a rolling Top 5? Think it will be a bit unwieldy otherwise.
Id keep that orderSnowball wrote:This was just to get the ball rolling.
Would you change the order?
1. Ejaria's Goal for 0-2 at Derby
2. Joao's great turn in the six yard box versus Colchester
3. Joao's sneaky near-post goal at Derby (training routine)
4. Joao's equalising header after an excellent Araruna cross (V Colchester)
5. Joao's cool goal after being put through by an excellent Olise ball.
Thanks. ATM this wouldn't need some kinda mark system, but once a top five or ten is "fixed" we'd need marks for new-contenders to see if a new goal "deserves" to oust an old goal.SouthDownsRoyal wrote:Id keep that orderSnowball wrote:This was just to get the ball rolling.

Ah, that makes sense. I didn’t immediately cotton onto that, but it could be interesting.Snowball wrote:SCIAG wrote:To be fair, when you start a goal of the season thread after the second match there isn’t much to talk about.Snowball wrote:Jesus, you lot must be so proud.
A thread about football, that actually might have interested a reasonable
percentage of Nobber and you managed to reduce it to shite in an hour
The idea is a ROLLING top ten or twenty, which to me sounds like a cool idea
We score a good goal it goes into the top ten, one gets moved out
Also gives Nobbers a chance to speak more specifically about how goals have been scored, about team v individual, training routines, luck etc (all in one place)
And surely, for those who are interested, they join in,
those that aren't, don't. Not rocket science
Where are all these people who are interested and crying out in horror at what the thread became?Snowball wrote:SCIAG wrote:To be fair, when you start a goal of the season thread after the second match there isn’t much to talk about.Snowball wrote:Jesus, you lot must be so proud.

They will probably start posting later, after school.Snowflake Royal wrote:Where are all these people who are interested and crying out in horror at what the thread became?Snowball wrote:SCIAG wrote:

By all those people, you mean OMA. He's at school still.Snowflake Royal wrote:Where are all these people who are interested and crying out in horror at what the thread became?Snowball wrote:SCIAG wrote:

Speculative punts that would have cleared the terraces 9 times out of 10 should not be eligible.
Now we’ve had this ‘let the people decide’ nonsense before and look where it got us....Snowball wrote:Nameless wrote:Can’t we exclude any goals that are flukey strikes from more than 20 yards out ? No need to include or exclude
If someone suggests a hopeful long shot is worry of the top ten, so be it
People like me (or you) would give it a low or middling score and it would probably fail to break in to the top ten.
In the end like Long John Silver’s wooden leg, it’s a matter of opinion.
Some people LOVE the thirty yarder (they usually win Goal of the Week Comps) and if these get voted up, well, I have to live with it
Sometimes (Gylfi or GMac’s gorgeous volley a coupla seasons ago) it’s quality and class. Let the people decide!
Sorry, I’ve predicted an away win for Michael Gove in the prediction league....Snowball wrote:Thanks, Nameless
That’s really helpful.
Also, you could award me the Prediction League now to save a lot of time and effort
Swift's goal against QPR last season on Boxing Day was very technical. You have to be a technically gifted player to stick that in the top corner, a very high level of skill.SouthDownsRoyal wrote:I love a twenty/thirty yarder. I get what you mean about them not being massively skilful as a team effort/team build up as such but when struck well, it’s a skill
