Granted, £100m was too much (not his fault) but I think he will become a top player for them with a year under his belt.

Most players take a while to soak up what Pep wants from them and he is no exception. Not great tonight, same applies to all the attacking players, but he’s doing just fine.

Mahrez didn't. Silva didn't. KDB didn't.

Actually Mahrez did - struggled at times in his first season. I think Bernardo did as well actually but not 100% sure on that one. Sane took a while to get going, even Aguero had a poor patch

Don’t think Grealish is worth £100m but it’s an incredibly inflated market, especially for an English player too so it isn’t entirely surprising. Although do wonder if there’s any regret on Pep’s side for not bringing a striker in. Worked a treat last season not having a striker but they do find themselves stuck from time to time with no real alternative

This is why I think Liverpool have a real chance of winning the league. Goals from 6 players who could play as striker.

Really sticking your neck out there DD!

Citeh looked really frustrated last night, colour me mildly bemused that Pep has only made one sub in the last 2 games, there has to be a danger he's running them into the ground a bit? Which I'm all for of course

I think Liverpool will win it, they are doing what City did last year.

More hope then anything but Jota and Diaz are looking insane good at the moment. And with Haaland apparently going City according to my sources, they will dick the league next year.

genome Grealish really was a spectacular waste of money

Mahrez didn't. Silva didn't. KDB didn't.

Mahrez absolutely did. He hardly got picked to start for a while because he hadn’t settled.

David Silva, brilliant immediately, Bernardo Silva not so much. Again left out of the starting lineup for a considerable time when he arrived

Can’t find the stats showing the sub appearances

And compare Grealish to Diaz/Jota who have made a massive impact already

I think ever since Darren Bent went for 30 mill  , English player tax has gone mental

I've noticed that people have started leaving the 'to' out in 'going to'

Promotion race in League Two is ridiculous. Forest Green look up, but anyone from 2nd to 10th could potentially get the other two automatic promotion spots

After last night's home defeat to Barrow, is that it for Scunthorpe United? 10 pts adrift...

Franchise FC United have clearly turned the corner by beating …..

(checks form) the most inconsistent team on current form

And now we know that the corner turned was using the wrong SatNav

What is this stinky student chaining yourself to the goalpost thing about?
Thought the Everton fans were gonna lynch him......one did get a free hit.

How bad are Everton?
Perhaps they will now stop blaming Benitez for everything with the same players under a different coach still looking dreadful.

I read an article yesterday about managers before Benitez that were sacked and didn't do very well.

One is now the manager of Belgium (possible contenders for the next World Cup)
One is the manager of Real Madrid, about to win La Liga
One is manager of the team walking away with The Championship.

Just like with Reading there is something badly wrong, particular when they have spent half a billion or so over the past few years (apart from Benitez who IIRC spent only £1.5 million) and yet are very much still in a relegation fight.

Thought they were a disgrace. Moaning, trying to get players booked, diving. Allan should face a lengthy ban. His abuse of the officials was vile. I thought it was a red personally. Both feet off the ground lunging in. You just can't do that in modern football.

Cracking come-back from Leeds tonight at Wolves. 2-0 down to win 3-2 late on.

As long as they can pick up a steady stream of ok results, I'd probably make Leeds safe now after the win last weekend as well.

How was that a red card though? Wasn't even a foul.
