We had it drummed into us when being coached to follow the ball in to ‘make sure’ because you can’t be sure there isn’t a defender coming in to clear the ball.

However, out coaching usually involved putting the ball into the net …

However, age may be dulling that particular memory, particularly given the manner of the defeat

Pretty sure they both were, or at least, set pieces. As you suggest, the, Senior one was a near post flick on.

The one I remember at the Rec was a looped header from the edge of the box in the last competative fixture against the Shits. We lost 3-1.

Both corners at the Tilehurst end. Both own goals from unmarked “defenders”. Think they were both Senior or one was Senior and the other from Hicks.
